D-1 Region 4

Hold on, so E fans will trash the program in public but not on a message board where nobody would know who they are? That makes no sense.
In public in their small group of buddies with no Elder admins or coaches around - dude, all the time and you know it. But the second one walks in, it's fist pumps and bro hugs, and the topic is shut down. So much smack talk from their fans about literally everything that goes on in their school. Not sure I'd consider those people fans. @Omar is a better fan than that two-faced stupidity.

If they post it here, they fear being outed because they know they'd get the wrath of the Elder "how dare you" crowd.

I have no doubt you, and people like you, have had these exact same b*tch sessions at the bar with your buddies. I can't take any of these "it's a catholic mission and for the betterment of the community" BS in stride when I know what I've really heard in real life. Elder people want to dominate football (and sports in general), and then come in here and sing coom ba yah, it's one of the most hilarious wtf moments I've ever witnessed. It's so damn fake. So scared to be ostracized by the community for telling the truth.

You should really try reading some of these posts out loud. You sound unhinged. You're also conflating correctly calling you a loser with whining but thats enough for today. I wish I could argue high school politics with you all day though.
We've already covered this. People think I'm crazy. Awesome.

I don't care.

Small tweaks meaning why are they so against going after non-traditional kids city-wide? They are literally the only Catholic school in Ohio that doesn't at this point. Moe does it, X does it, LaSalle does it, Ignatius does it, Eds does it.

And would the legacy Elder crowd revolt if they did? Be honest.
Small tweaks and city wide recruiting shouldn’t be in the same sentence.

I’m not sure but me and my friends have literally never sat in a bar and talked about how we could make Elder football better. You seem to be talking to about 5% of the crazy side of any fan base. AKA Omar

I mean, maybe, but it seems all the Elder fans I've met have the same song and dance.

Lets try to get this thread back on track. Division 1 Region 4. With a couple of weeks before the playoffs what has been the most improved area on the teams you cheer for? In my mind for Moeller it's been on defense. In particular open field tackling and sealing off the edge the last couple of weeks has been impressive. From the box scores it seems Lakota West has found its groove on offense.

It’s literally the same thing happening for Moeller and Lakota West the last couple of years. The Moeller defense has improved throughout the season each year, only to wind up costing them in the playoffs against Springfield. The Lakota West offense looks like they are firing on all cylinders in GMC play once again, but it’s still too much of a grab-bag offense to work against a disciplined talented defense.

Elsewhere, Princeton is falling apart defensively and Winton Woods simply hasn’t been challenged. X is solid on both sides of the ball but wildly inconsistent. Elder just isn’t that talented. Lakota East remains horrendous defensively but could maybe challenge with their offense. Hamilton has a really good defense but may be too simple on offense to be productive against anybody good.

I think we’ll learn a lot about Winton Woods when they play Anderson.

Moeller has the best offense in R4 and probably the best overall team. Lakota West and Winton Woods will be the only legitimate contenders against Moeller from what I’ve seen on the field.

Agree on all points

I think Anderson blows WW out unless some strange things happen. They have 0 offense to speak of. Not sure what happens with Princeton and West. Moe is imo by far the best team in the state. Not sure who can touch them in D1

Walnut:
- Even if it's only by virtue of scheduling a cupcake in non-con, and even if they'll just be prey for WW or Lakota West, they're at least going to play Week 11 football for the first time in three years.
- The passing game has shown flashes of high-level play, with the problem being consistency, and the biggest issue in the run game has been a lack of play diversity. Both these issues can be remedied in a good offseason.

I see an Anderson Win vs WW but not a blow out. Anderson is not rolling up the 400-600 yards in this one like they have all season. 28-17. Princeton has basically 2 games they can win and get some players rest. WEST has a little tougher road with Mason and EAST but they have had a fire lit under them since the Princeton game so it will be some good football.

Brother, I think you’re gonna be the main point raised on Elder students needing to be drug tested cuz that take is in the clouds. I get it, everyone is dogging on the fans of the purple panthers on price hill, doesn’t mean you have to lash out….. that being said eLdEr eLdEr eLdEr!¡¡!¡!

I'm actually disappointed with this region. Lakota West might have a small chance to come out. But Moeller will win the region easily imo. This region basketball will be way more competitive and exciting

So Princeton seems to have regressed. Is that due to injury/ other?

No big injuries. Parker son was out 2 games , I haven’t seen Simpson since week 6. O line hasn’t gotten any better to decide if the want to be a run or passing team . Defensive can’t cover the pass . Special teams has been surprised kicker has a strong leg and can make field goals at a distance. I keep thinking they will get better but they are a 2 extra game playoff team . My neighbor son just started his first Jv game as a o lineman and made a few nice blocks to spring the running back . 6’3” 240 right now freshman. They have 8-9 nice freshman that will contribute next year

Agreed, even though Moeller might win the state title in football and I’m not sure anyone from SWO will in basketball.

It has been a combination of a few things. I have heard several players were sat due to disciplinary issues. Many injuries. Both corners have missed games, as well as one of the Safeties. Parker at LB has missed a few. Williams, LB hasn’t played since game 5, may be a transfer situation or an injury, don’t know. Lack of depth is showing.

If the Vikes do not improve their pass rush and coverage, it will be a short playoff run. Hoping Parker can have them ready for the playoffs.

Blow out is to strong of a phrase. I do think Anderson wins by double digits though.

Princeton is falling apart defensively by your take, but West has taken off offensively and is now hitting on all cylinders since the Princeton loss (5 wins against teams that have a combined 9 wins)? Am I missing something?

They’ve still scored 50+ in each of those 5 games. That would be the definition of taking off. Like I said though, it’s still a grab bag offense that won’t work against good defenses, which is exactly what happened in the last 3 years in the playoffs.

Princeton’s given up 30+ in 2 of the last 3 weeks to mediocre offenses. For a team that is setup to win on the strength of their defense (like they did against Lakota West and Lakota East) that’s not good.

50plus in each of those games vs teams with an average of 1 win.

But when they played a team in Princeton (who had equal amount of talent) who as you stated, "has given up 30 plus in 2 of the last 3 weeks to mediocre offenses", they scored 6 total points.

My point is, it's hot hard to take off offensively vs/ bad teams.

How about dropping 30 on a team that beat the Vikes by 30?

Which begs another question - why does Sycamore constantly get a pass for poor results? I know they're not getting top end talent, but Sycamore has a pretty good base of students with 1,600+ students and in an area/socio-economic environment where the kids have access to anything.

They just seem to go through the motions and everyone is content. Do they just not care? The last 6-7 years have been pretty bad.

I'm not saying they should be winning state titles, but c'mon.

I've also noticed a trend that you can't call out performance of coaches if they went to Elder, so maybe that's it. Sycamore football and Harrison basketball come to mind as two programs where we're constantly told "have great coaches" but never seem to win anything, and honestly, have had multiple brutal seasons.
