Getting into the best part of the state playoffs. Coed GCL strong start with 5 of 6 teams still alive. The feature match up Badin vs. Caroll. Will third time be the charm for Badin, Carroll took first 2 but Badin has shown great improvement since those battles. The winner most likely will get to play Purcel Marion and 2 time Ms. Ohio Basketball Dee Alexander. I like Carroll to beat Badin and upset PM

CJ has a great team this year love their aggressive style, the way they share the ball.and play tight defense. (Beat Carroll) Going to be a tough out. Can they beat PM and make it an all Coed-GCL regional final. PM will be good game but thinkthey might be to much for the Eagles. Fly high Eagles!

Mc Nick is getting hot at the right time. Could see all Coed GCL regional final . (Alter- Mcnick) They split in regular season with each winning at home. Nearly exact scores Alter won first 56-52. McNick most recent 56-53 in OT

Lets not forget Alter. A very average season by their standards. They do have some talent Moody is a wonderful player the freshman have been getting better they also got Shephard back. If they play their best see them getting to state. Go Knights!

Next year, D3 will get back to the normal run of (Carroll or Badin) making the final 4 after the Hackberry Street Express leaves town. You won't find a more expensive regional bracket in all of Ohio. With the expansion to 7 divisions, it still failed to correct the biggest flaw of all. The schools that can recruit in the lower divisions, will always outshine the home-grown public schools. In D1 and D2, the public schools still have a fighting chance, as is the case this season, with only 1 private remaining in D1 and D2 (Cincinnati Area Teams)

Let's not pretend the best public schools are winning with "homegrown" talent (at any division).

However lost a promising freashman, to injury. If they play their best see them getting to state. Go Knights! Beat the Rockets

So if Carroll, Alter, McNicholas etc are winning with 90% of the roster (maybe more) from Catholic grade schools within 5 miles of the campus that’s not “homegrown talent”?

Alter girls win a close one over McNick 67-63 to win regional. Game of runs. McNick got it down to 2 points but could not take a lead. Alter held on. Mooney was unstoppable for Alter scored 31 points. Think Mc Nick should have stayed with man to man press rather than the zone press.

This Alter team has overcome key injuries and continues on to state. The competive nature of the GCL has helped make them stronger, gritty and tough out in tourney. Go Knights!

Alter Girls win a great game over Fairfield Union 46-33 in the state semi finals. Maddie Mooney led the team in scoring 22 points and leadership. She kept the team together and on track. Pothast 11pts, Shepard 9 pts. Hats off to Fairfield Union team and fans. Gym was overflowing with FU ( kid you not, the back their jersey's have FU) fans. It was very loud and hostile enviroment for the Alter girls. Keys to the game. Alter broke press, played great defense and rebounded the best they have all year. They will have their hands full with Bellvue.

Good Luck Knights bring home a state title!

Thanks for the analysis and I laughed out loud at the FU on their shirts... that's great!

When is the championship game? I know UD.... could be home court advantage for Alter

Congrats to the Alter ladies. Crazy that they went 4-6 in their conference but have a chance to win State. Says something about the strength of the Coed.
