Cleveland Guardians

It sure would have been nice to have Juan Soto in the outfield during the playoffs in 2022, and all of last year, and all or part of this year. All they had to do was trade Daniel Espino, who had never pitched in the majors at that point and probably never will.

*** And pay $23M or whatever his salary was last year.

My issue so far this year is you literally say this winter it's time to see what we have in the kids. Ok, then why is Straw starting? Why send down Manzardo (we know why). Your 2 best bats so far have been Manzardo and DeLauter, and neither will play. It's absurdity

I just wish these cheap m-effers would sell the team to Blitzer already, right after they push the Progressive Field lease out to twenty more years.

Myles straw on waivers.

They'd get a little two out rally going, then you'd see him walk to the plate...grab the remote, change channel.
Addition by subtraction to the bottom of the lineup. One of Tito's very few shortcomings was his loyalty to some of his favorites and Straw fell clearly within this category.

As baseball is the sport for the eternal optimists, I am dreaming of a healthy starting rotation, a healthy Clase, a line up where Bo Naylor, Gimenez, Jose and Josh Naylor all have all-star caliber seasons, while Kwan keeps being Kwan and all are eventually joined in the line up by Manzardo, Brito and DeLauter. Hang an AL Central pennant at Progressive Field and take your chances in the postseason.

It could happen. The Twins’ position players are shockingly healthy for once (for now), but the injury bug has gotten to their pitching staff. Presumptive #5 starter Anthony DeSclafani has an elbow or arm injury and at last check was seeing a specialist about options. He will likely miss some if not all of the season. That puts relatively inexperienced Louie Varland into the rotation, with no experienced guys behind him.

Star closer Jhoan Duran is set to miss time with an oblique injury, and lefty set-up man Caleb Thielbar will miss time with a hamstring injury. The Twins bullpen looks to be a potential concern with those guys out for awhile.

Another year of Tribe baseball, and another year of not being able to watch (I stream via Youtube TV). I was at least hoping to watch the first week of games, as MLB Extra Innings is usually offered for free, but I read yesterday that Youtube TV dropped them because they couldn't come to a financial agreement. Could you imagine not being able to watch the Browns in your local market? And the bigwigs at MLB wonder why the game is dying.

Find a cozy little beer joint that shows the games.
