The Junior Class in the CHL remains LOADED! There are some freshmen to keep your eyes on as well!

IH loses alot of Size from last years team , but the insert of Freshmen Disanto will help make up for lost production. The kid can play!

Mariemont style will stay the same "Chuck the ROCK" so they will still be able to score.

Taylor returns a strong Junior/Senior core w/addition of some nice freshmen that may help w/some Varsity minutes.

DP and FT both return points but will they be able to compete in a loaded class?

Will Madeira be better than 4-10 CHL last year?

Reading not alot of size but some point returning ? what do they have coming in?

Here is my Prediction

1. Wyoming (it's simply theirs until someone knocks them off the top spot)
2. Taylor ( STRONG JR/SR class + Branch they should compete for the top spot)
3. IH (lose alot of size but Disanto will score for them)
4. Mariemont (they will score Stalzer looks for a big year)
5. Madeira
6. reading (30+ ppg returning but will they have the size to compete in the league)
7. DP (lost some kids to transfer) have a few young guys returning.
8. FT (prove me wrong)

Pre season POY Picks

1. Wiley (wyoming)
2. Disanto (IH) will never happen but he will be in the top 5 of most offensive category
3. Stalzer (MM) their style of offense will along him for some big games this year
4. Wentz (taylor) Will be the PG of a team that will able to score! He should have some big games

Wow. Early, but OK

In order of predicated finish:
1- Wyoming. Nothing to be said. Only question is will anyone play them to single digits in CHL play

2- Taylor. Sneaky loaded coming back. Good players everywhere. Two scholaship FB players cannot hurt either.
3- IH. Maybe 3rd year's a charm. I wont mention names, but the IH frosh is an overblown IG kid. Nothing special enough to boost IH

4 - Madeira. New coach. They turned down more qualified people. He better pay off quick, or the Madeira good ol boys network will be under fire.
5 - Mariemont. Lost a ton.. Return one of the best players. You mentioned theyd be "run n gun as always"; they had 2nd or 3rd lowest defensive average in league last year; cant be playing too fast. They had some JV size, I'd look for them to ground and pound and zone

6- Deer Park. FInneytown's coach switches over to Silverton. DP best player left DP and is at MIlford.
7- Reading. Just not much this year
8 - Finneytown. 1st time Head Coach. Culture needs some attention.

100% accurate assessment on the IH freshman. Very streaky and is full grown (not going to get taller or materially better)

Should be an exciting year! My pick is Wyoming as well if there are no injuries etc…
IH is a mystery…lost a ton to graduation 🤔
My Mustangs should be much improved..new coach promotes pace of play and toughness on D and glass
Taylor could be that sleeper…Holland gets the most out of his players and there is talent there…
Mariemont should be fine and might shock a team or two…Stalzer could have a nice year.
DP? New coach…some talent…not sure
No idea what is happening in Finney or Reading

He put up 38 pts vs Alter (granted Alter had lost Brand and Leen) but that was a state championship team he put 38 up against and had Connor and greer on the floor.

Really early, but oh well.

FT: Jace Ridgeway transferred to Winton Woods

DP: Cam is at Milford
Matthew Wright is at Purcell

Unfortunate for these schools, they will continue to struggle. This is potentially their last year in the CHL, as new bottom feeder conference is set to form. Norwood, College Hill, Lockland, etc.

Won’t belabor the IH kid, but you’re spot on. IG hyped, not a bad player overall, will shine against poor teams. The 35 was against incoming freshman, JV guys at Alter. RJ Greer, Uhle and Connor didn’t play.

man thats a shame for those programs. cant say I feel bad for DP as a whole b/c Gentry cheated his was to a state Championship but whatever.

Will def adjust my prediction based off this . i had DP up

That's quite the update - especially for DP. Ridgeway could've developed into a decent CHL player at FT. Not sure if he'll ever play meaningful minutes at WW.

The new FT coach is an alum and will do a good job of developing the little talent that there is and keeping ahold of it.

As for the new conference rumor - is this a legitimate thing or still a pipe dream?

The MVC could probably benefit from a public/private break and DP/FT would fit in well with the public schools in that group to form a new 8-team conference. (FT, DP, Norwood, Clark, NCH, St. B, Lockland, New Miami).

When teams leave they dont announce it year before. GENERALLY they give a year in advance notice (most of that is contracted so the league can search for possible replacements)

But haven't heard any truth to any of that other than being a Rumor.

Right. Talawanda announced their move to the SWBL for Fall 2025 at the end of July. Bacon and Purcell announced their Fall 2019 move to the MVC in Spring 2018.

I'd be surprised if FT/DP can get out before 2026 at this point.

Other than the GMC(unless it blows up like rumored with the big southern GWOC schools) and GCLS, almost every conference could use a reorganization. Enrollment shifts and the new division alignment have made most of them outdated.

Batavia and Goshen need to join the ECC and go to two divisions.
NR needs to find a new home.
Wilmington and CM should join the new SWBL
WB needs to east

DP, FT and the public MVCs need to join up. The CHL would be fine IMO after those two leave although six would be hard for football.

Get the GCLS band back together with the private MVCs if needed to make sure everyone still gets a trophy - looking at you RB football.

This seriously is a good and relevant topic as so many schools are going under drastic change. You mention Batavia... and especially Goshen. in a decade, Goshen my be resembling Little Miami/Mason in terms of growth.

It's not a bad thing to take a look at regionality, school size and similarities to re-align GMC/ECC/SBC/CHL/SWOC... though it wont happen

But would be cool

2 weeks from the 1st practice, me thinks.

Wyoming loading up.

The Indian Hill transfer train has begun. 1 from Princeton. 1 from CCD.

Taylor going to be sneaky real good.

Madeira new coach get them over the hump?

IH transfers a surprise…didn’t think the parents would like transfers taking roster spots! Madeira should be better but until proven otherwise Wyoming is still king. Interested to see Taylor…Coach Holland really gets the most from his teams and with talent they could be very good…

Not sure whom the Princeton kid is.

CCD kid you are refering to most likely Desantis? 2nd year 8th grader. Kid is good. or is it another kid?
He got alot of Attention over the summer on IG and what not.

Taylor Just released their schedule.

they will be traveling to Florida over Christmas.

Looks like they have taken off Northwest, Cincinnati Christian and Clinton Massie to fit this in.

Non league opponents-
Ross - lost last year 55-41
Harrison - lost last year 60-52
L'burg - lost last year 56-54
Talawanda - beat last year 57-41
New Richmond - beat last year 59-50

Historically we played Ross, Harrison and L'burg at or around Christmas break which I never liked b/c our kids are out of school and their "routines" are a little different. They play Ross opening night Dec 3rd, L'burg Dec 17th and Harrison Jan 14th.
