Last year was an exciting season in the CHL! the league title came down to the very last week of play and days of games!

Taylor and IH shared the league title last year (taylors 1st CHL title since 1999!)

last years results

1) IH 11-3
1) Taylor 11-3
3) Madeira 10-4
4) Reading 8-6
5) Mariemont 7-7
6) Wyoming 7-7
7) DP 2-12
8) FT 0-14

POY Willow Montag (Taylor)

Can Wyoming put some pieces around Svendsen? Does Taylors freshmen class make an impact on varsity? Madeira may have the best player in the League (Dixon who was hurt the 1st half of last year!)

I think you will see a lot of teams from the mid/bottom slide up. Reading loses alot of Varsity girls not sure what their middle school was like.
I could see this being another year where the champion has 2-4 losses.

Here is my Prediction for this up coming season

1) Taylor (returns 30+ ppg and size , Freshmen lizzy Hilvert will have an impact on varsity she plays varsity VB as well)

2) madeira (has one of if not the best player in the league Dixon)

3) IH (langworthy had a down Junior Year IMO she will have a big year!)

4) Wyoming (svendsen is good and return a good amount as well)

5) MM (spreen is a POY type of player but they need some pieces to help her)

6) Deer Park (Return alot of good players , but CHL play they have struggled vs the top tier teams)

7) Reading (lost ALOT of offense)

8) Finneytown - prove me wrong

POY candidates

1- Montag (taylor)
2- Langworthy (IH)
3- Spreen (MM)
4- Svendsen (wyoming)
5- Dixon (Madeira)
6- Williams (DP)

I would say teams 1-4 could be in any order! Hard to say this year for sure!
POY there are so many choices!

this should be a fun year of girls hoops in the CHL!

Hearing Indian Hill lost a starter to Wyoming but has a good Freshman class. Arrington always gets the kids to play hard.
Dixon is a game changer for Madeira if she stays healthy.
Interested to see what Wyoming does this year with the hiring of the new coach (3 coaches in as many years )
Taylor and Willow will be a tough team.
Just not enough at MM this year.
Then it's everyone else.

Spreen is a STUD for MM. But just not enough around her.

I wish some of these Taylor VB girls would give basketball a try 😞 we have 2 soph 6footers that would help Odor down low a TON!

Willow, Langworth, Miller, Svendsen, Williams and Dixon are clear best 6 players in the CHL.

Langworthy plays well, but settles for way too many threes.

Same could be said for Spreen, but she does find a way to get the the FT line more.

Dixon is the best underclassman and I think she will be consistent this season as she doesn't have to rely on a lot of threes.

Overall I think the standings end up similar to last year. If I recall correctly, the top 7 scorers in the league are all returning this year.

Taylor opens up scrimmages tonight w/a tri at home with Aiken and 7hills
7hills was a 20 win team from last year (won the MVC Gray)

Taylor took 2 of 3 qtrs vs 7hills and 2 of 3 qtrs from Aiken (aiken looks MUCH improved from teams in the past!)

7hills didnt have a JV team there ? Not sure if #'s are down or what?

CHL will have another worry in taylor POY from VB Stutzman is NOT playing travel VB and is playing basketball for the jackets! adding a 6ft lefty ball handler/shooter will help the jackets! (she played MS bball but did not play last year as a freshmen)

Maybe Aiken was missing some people last Saturday. The Aiken I saw was not good.
they had 2-3 girls that were pretty good athletes. #3 and #11. No height they were playing a little more "street ball" than they needed too, but their guards were athletic and could handle the ball/defend pretty well

PSA I haven't seen them play a game the past few years , they came to a scrimmage at our place last year so I am basing off of that.

Aiken won 10 games last year and looks like based off their roster only lost 2 seniors (only was about 3 ppg from last year)

Its worth noting our best player didn't touch the floor last night and our big did not play as well.

It was just a scrimmage. But they scored 5 points or so against Walnut in 2 quarters.

A Willowless Taylor picks up a CHL W vs Wyoming. Ellie Simms leading scorer w/10 pts.
Madeira took down the Blue devils as well.

Through the holiday break this is where we stand on the girls side

IH- 4-0
MM- 4-1 (loss to IH)
Wyoming - 3-2
Madeira - 3-2
Taylor - 2-3
Deer Park - 2-3
Reading - 1-3
FT - 0-5

2 of the best Players in the CHL look to be out w/injuries currently (POY montag for Taylor and SOPH. Dixon for Madeira) Dixon missed their last game vs MM and if Madeira could have pulled that out would have been in sole possession of 2nd place.

Taylor bright spot has been Soph (CHL volleyball POY) Kylie Stutzman who is avg'ing 9PPG and 6reb! Also Freshmen Lizzy Hilvert who is avg'ing 5PPG and 5 REB.

langworthy for IH looks to have missed about half of their games as well.
Spreen has missed a few games for MM as well, but is avg'ing 16ppg

Right now front runner for POY HAS to be Kaylee Williams from DP. no one in the league is putting up #'s like hers. almost 19ppg 10 reb

I think she's been playing, that coach is just slacking on getting stats on the site. Same for Indian Hill.

Kaylee Williams has been great.
Dixon has been great. They need her back.
Rosfeld is going to be a problem for the next few years.

Yea stats on the boys and girls side have been hard to get this year!

Rosfeld as well yes has had a great year!

Reading knocks off my Jackets for the 1st time since 2018

they are DEF missing Montag and Odor on the floor this year....

Taylor has a loaded 8th grade class coming up and that 8th grade team is currently 7-1 their only loss vs Harrison
