"Burger King Baby" Reunites with Mother

Her mom abandons her. 27 years later the daughter searches and finds her mother. It seems that all is happy and daughter wants her mother in her life.

How does one forgive such a thing? I'm sure there's more to this story (maybe not), but I'm not sure I'd have any interest in meeting, let along having a relationship, with a biological parent who abandoned me.

Am I thinking wrong, here?
 
 
I think the curiosity and desire for answers would at least make me want to meet my biological parents. Not sure I could have a relationship with them though.
 
That would be tough. I guess everybody wants a sense of belonging though. It would take a pretty deep understanding and forgiveness for me. Don't know if I would want a relationship, but would want to meet them. IMO it would all depend on their reasoning and remorsefulness.
