Joanna Dias, Julie Dias ,Tonja Stewart 1,2,3 when Southeast won in 1983 (Imagine that) Team and individuals ran different races though,1990s Beaumont Girls teams
1996 Beavercreek Girls
2003 Bowling Green Girls
2009 Mag Girls
2014 Centerville Girls
Lexington teams from 2017-2020 were outstanding, especially the 1-2 year
2019 Beavercreek Girls- 1-2 in the state was amazing.
Minster girls almost every year
Russo brothers, Blair Hopkins, Mike Peters, Greg WilcherThe Colerain team in the late 70's or early 80's would have to be considered wouldn't they?
Their 4th and 5th men were sub 4:25 guys I think.
Boys side - 2013 St. X is in a class by itself with the tier behind IMO comprised of in no particular order...
2001 Hudson
2012 St. X
2015 St. Ignatius
2016 Solon
Will add some data to back up when I get more time but I'm not sure I would add another boys team before or after to that shortlist. 2017 Hudson was dominant compared to who they were competing against but no one else in D1 was very good that year historically.
86 and 87 were pretty darn good. The 1990 or 1991 Caldwell boys team is actually my favorite team I ever watched. I loved watching Hesson (spelling) run.
yep. Not to shabby. Too extreme for me though. They would wheel the course with 3 different wheels to figure out the shortest distance. Tried to talk to me all about it in 82 and 83 and I just could not deal with that much info. Just run.How about the 1980 Kent Roosevelt team with 44 points & a 17 second spread.
2019 Woodridge would be 2nd to St X.Woodridge 2006. 1,2,6,9,25 = 43 1:13 1-5
Woodridge 2019 3,4,5,12,13 = 37 37.1 1-5
Kent State High School 1970 3,4,7,9,10 = 33 (2 mile)
Even more amazing the fact this was done without their usual #1 (Steve Weiner) who was sick and finished as the 6th man.How about the 1980 Kent Roosevelt team with 44 points & a 17 second spread.
The hard part with any of this is the teams know what they need to do, so they don't go much beyond that. How do you do better than 1,2 in the race when you know you are 1,2? They aren't out there running for time. Even the 2019 team. Just don't blow up and we win. Could they have taken chances and won by more or if they were in the D1 race would they have run better knowing they had to?2019 Woodridge would be 2nd to St X.
You have a good argument relative to other teams for the 2006 team. Will take some digging to find one better than that.
2013 St. Xavier scored 46 at state then went to Nike Midwest and got second to Carmel. In 2012, they got an at-large bid to the NXN for their third place finish but the 2013 team got an automatic bid for their second place which may be the only Ohio team to get the automatic bid. I think one year Woodridge got an at-large bid but don't remember the year, maybe psycho_dad can help. Did Woodridge ever run in Terra Haute?2013* St. Xavier team was ridiculous. Scored less than 50 points at the State Meet. Great performance at NXN that year.
Nobody has even come close since then 10 years later. I know there was a great LaSalle and great Woodridge team in the early days of NXN (Then it was Nike Team Nationals) but I don’t think they were as good as the 2013 Bombers.

Another thing about the 2013 Midwest Regional was that St. Xavier's Evan Stifel won the boys championship race. Has any other Ohio runner ever won the Nike Midwest Regional male or female?
My notes show Woodridge was an automatic bid in 2006 and LaSalle received an at-large. Elmhurst York was the other automatic bid from the midwest. The regional meet was not contested until 2007. Medina earned an at-large that year.2013 St. Xavier scored 46 at state then went to Nike Midwest and got second to Carmel. Exactly. I answered my friend's question, and then I added on the natural extension of the Ohio Footlocker Midwest individual champions. It's easy to get off topic: Another thing about the 2013 Midwest Regional was that St. Xavier's Evan Stifel won the boys championship race. I’m fairly certain Stifel was the #2 in 2013. But yes, crazy. The crazier part of that story is that Stifel was St. Xavier's #3 runner that year.
