From the article:

In their 2022 Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans, pinned to Sunday’s Super Bowl LVI, WalletHub broke 245 U.S. spots into three categories — large, midsize and small. A large city is one with more than 300,000 residents. For midsize cities, it’s from 100,000 to 300,000 residents and small is less than 100,000.

The site looked at 21 metrics to rank the cities, which each have at least one college or professional football team. They considered things such as number of teams, average ticket prices and fan friendliness. Each entry was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 being the most favorable conditions for football fans.

WalletHub must be a "reputable" source. After all, they are so directly linked to sports and football. Just take a look:

Hmmmm.

Nevermind whether or not I agree with the entire list:
Jacksonville is the only NFL city not in the top 30. Tuscaloosa is the only non-NFL city in the top 30.

Agreed. I’ll always look at Boston as a baseball/hockey town.

IMO, to be a true football city, means you’ve got people with a passion at every level from HS to College to the NFL. There’s no major college program in either city, unless you count BC, which I don’t. And the HS football in both cities is terrible.

Has there ever been a city have their college football team play in the National Championship final four playoffs, and their pro team play in the Super Bowl in the same year?
........not til this year!!! have a WHO? DEY

And what has that support been before this year? Congratulations on this year's accomplishments ( it's amazing), but signaling the " best" would mean long-term support, not just a one year thing. And, Bengals support in recent years has not been exemplary. Even the most ardent Cincinnati fanatic has to admit that.

I had to think about that for a minute.

I think many forgot all about UC!

Truth be told, I am unsure if I75 and the surrounding interstates can handle the extra use from all those jumping on the bandwagon.

Voice, once we get that new I-75 bridge across the river the folks up in DC promised us we'll have plenty of bandwagon space. You oughta' hop on board. Now that Big Ben is done the Stillers with be rebuilding, and the Browns are well, the Browns. The sky's the limit for Coach Fickell and Bearcat football. Come on down, I'll buy ya a five way at Skyline.

Funny story about Skyline. Two Sunday's ago I bought a 5 way on my way to Elizabethtown, KY. I was going to eat it during the Bengals/Chefs game. Put it on the floor on the passenger side. The car heat kept it warm the whole time, which was good, buuuuuut both small baggies of cheese totally melted into one big glob! True story.

UC shot their wad, and Fickell if he is/was smart will jump ship and strike while the iron is hot.
