Basketball players who also play football, eligibility question

If there are guys who play football and basketball, and the football team is still alive in the playoffs, how many days after football season ends must those players sit out before they are allowed to play basketball? I know there is a rule that they have to sit out for a period before they can play basketball but I'm not sure how long it is.

Our bball coach typically sets aside a one day try out day for any football / basketball players. Normally any bball players who play football it is simply a formality BUT he does it the Saturday morning immediately after the last Friday night game....unless it's a Saturday night playoff game then it's the following Monday.

I believe our coach usually does tryouts for any fb players the day after equipment turn in from Football.
