This is getting way beyond comedy and venturing into sadness.

That feeling when a group of wealthy, powerful Jews get you fired from your job for saying that Jews are wealthy and privileged. LMAO.

If you compared the average income of ethnic groups as well as their presence in positions of power relative to their share of of the general population, Jews would certainly be near the very top of the list.

It's undoubtedly true that Jewish students at UM, on average, come from homes and families that are more "wealthy and privileged" than students of other ethnicities.

There was nothing incorrect about that statement. The problem seems to be that some Jews think they are in danger if people see them as wealthy and privileged. All Rachel Dawson did was speak about Jews in precisely the same way that DEI experts speak about gentile Whites (who are on average less wealthy and privileged than Jews)

The ADL, which is the Jewish group quoted in the article, is far left, pro DEI, and constantly whining about "White privilege" and bashing non Jewish whites. They just don't like it when someone like Dawson applies their own rhetoric to Jews.

Seems like Miss Dawson learned a valuable lesson about who is really privileged.

Reminds me of a "joke" Norm Macdonald told on weekend update years ago:
"Earlier this week, Marlon Brando met with Jewish leaders to apologize for comments he made on Larry King Live, among them that "Hollywood is run by the Jews." The Jewish leaders accepted the actor's apology and announced that Brando is now free to work again."

You better be careful, saying stuff like that will get you labeled a dirty word. lol
It has to be rough to be part of a minority that is both constantly "oppressed," but also incredibly over represented in areas of power and influence (politics, media, entertainment, banking). lol

If you don't think there are American Jews living week-to-week, and having schollie-eligible income levels, you're a moron. Many do very well, because their culture places high value on academic achievement and money management, but if one tries to characterize all members of an ethnicity as being the same, that's just a fool.

Or maybe it's as simple as "being a racist a-hole finally cuts in all directions"?

This! And to be fair, I can’t tell a jew from a regular white person.

Of course there are many Jews who aren't wealthy. Every ethnic group has rich and poor members. I'm referring to averages between large groups. Taken as a collective, Jews tend to be very financially successful relative to other groups.

In 2022, 44% of religious Jews had a household income of more than $100,000 (highest of any faith group surveyed) and only 12% were under $30,000 (lowest of any group surveyed)

The same 44% figure is found in a 2016 survey, where Jews were also the most likely to have a household income over $100K and least likely to have a household income under $30K

This study from 2021 included non-religious ethnic Jews as well as religious Jews. Here's what it says about income:

As a whole, Jews are a relatively high-income group. About one-in-four Jews (23%) say they have family incomes of $200,000 or more. By comparison, just 4% of U.S. adults report that level of household income.
At the other end of the spectrum, one-in-ten U.S. Jews report annual household incomes of less than $30,000, far fewer than the 26% of all U.S. adults who are below that threshold.

Cool facts, but none of that excuses the racist piece of that they fired, either.

I think it's good when a DEI director gets fired. I just think it's amusing that the Jewish group pushing for her firing is the same one that came out with its own definition of "racism" in 2020:

"the marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges White people."

According to that definition, created by the ADL itself, Rachel Dawson, as a Black woman, could not be racist.

The ADL has also designed a lesson plan for high school teachers about "privilege and the criminal justice system"

Their description:

In this lesson, students reflect on the killing of Michael Brown through the lens of race, privilege and power. Students will examine the various levels of racial disparities in the criminal justice system and explore the role white privilege plays in the different interactions people have with the police and the criminal justice system.

Officer Darren Wilson was not charged by Obama's Black Attorney General Eric Holder, and the "hands up don't shoot" story was a hoax. Brown was not killed because of his race. The ADL wants to push lies to high school students in order to demonize White people. But if a Black woman notices Jews are wealthier than other groups, they are outraged.

Cool story.

The fact remains that the ADL is not the Jewish people. It is not Israel. It is not Judaism. The ADL is a bunch of predominantly irreligious lawyer Jews, playing the arch Liberal game and jockeying for position all of the time. If you don’t understand that, I guess you haven’t hung around long enough on this little blue ball of ours.
