How in the world could lattisa Bittenger be left off this selection in Div I4? With her numbers? Not only pitching but hitting as well.
 
 
Blame it on your local newspaper writers... as I understand it to be all-ohio, you have to be all-district/region and then there's a state-wide vote by sports writers.
 
MCGal - that is not how All-Ohio teams are voted..

For All-Ohio, coaches who are part of the OHSFSCA (Ohio High Fastpitch SoftbalL Coaches Association) nominate players for All-Ohio and then coaches from that district vote. Coaches don't vote for players not in their district. That is basically how the process goes...

What school is she from? It is highly likely that her schools coach is not a participating member in the coaches association therefore cannot nominate or vote on players.

This is an accurate description of how the All-State selections are made. If her coach is not a member of the OHSFSCA, she can't be on the team. Each district gets a portion of the statewide slots (based on the number of coaches in the association).
 
If this is the pitcher from East Canton, I have it on good authority that her coach was not at the meeting to get her nominated for NE District team, so she had no chance of getting All-Ohio status. Whether he is a member or not, I do not know. From my source, she was a heck of a pitcher and he was prepared to vote for her at the meeting.
