A Class Act

He is a very classy guy. I've never been a big fan of St. X (mostly becuase they always win and I'm jealous), but when coaches win a "Coach of the Year" award at the end of the season and they don't coach their kids all year like he does, I want to smack those coaches for the way they voted. They are few coaches in the HS world that actually coach their star swimmers and he Brower is one of them.

If you asked a St. X swimmer what is one of most important moments of their time on the team, they will often say it is going to "chapel" after Friday afternoon practice. After Friday practice the entire team goes to the school chapel, sometimes they pray, other times a guest speaker, or a coach, shares a lesson or life story with the boys. It is one of Coach Brower's many ways of trying to help his team of swimmers perform their best at the end of the season and to be fine young men when they graduate from St. X.

The humility and kindness of Coach Brower that is seen in the interview is what you see every day. The coaching staff is no different. They do great things with those boys every day.
