I was looking at www.swdab.org and saw that the southwest district in DII was to recieve five bids for singles and doubles. Does anyone know how they determine the fifth slot? For example, if someone loses in the first round are they out or is there a way they get the fifth position? I know for singles that there are five good players in the draw, and maybe this made up so they could go all to state, but I really do not know since two of them are playing each other in the first round.
5 Singles, 5 Doubles for DII

You have to win a first round match and then you go into a seperate semi to determine the 5th spot.
