HAMILTON 3, OAK HILLS 0: Junior Rachel LeMaster homered and doubled and Ashley Boyd struck out six in a two-hit shutout to lead Big Blue to a season-opening victory at HHS. LeMaster also scored a run on a Susan Wendland sacrifice fly, and Tara Bastin singled home Haleigh Daniels for the other run. Rachel Cox went 2-for-3 with a double. Big Blue return to action today at Lakota West in a battle of defending state semifinalists.

FAIRFIELD 6, PRINCETON 0: Samantha Daniel struck out seven batters and threw five innings of one hit ball to lead the Indians to the win Monday at Fairfield. Jaisa Fox pitched the final two innings, striking out six while allowing just one hit. Lindsay Traxler (2-for-4, RBI) and Erin Coyle (2-2, double, two runs scored) led the offense for the Indians.

MADISON 15, PREBLE SHAWNEE 2: Rekha Roberts went 5-for-5 and drove in four runs to lead the Mohawks to a season-opening

win Monday. Roberts also stole three bases and scored four runs. Stacey Eckhardt (3-for-4, three RBIs, two runs) and Heather Throckmorton (3-3, RBI, two runs) also had big days at the plate. Eckhardt went the distance on the mound, striking out 10.

CHAMINADE-JULIENNE 4, BADIN 3: Chaminade-Julienne scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to come from behind and beat Badin in a Girls Greater Cincinnati League contest Monday. Sarah Young struck out four Eagles, but took the loss. Whitney Mueller, Megan Batt and Lindsey Williams each had a hit for the Rams (0-1, 0-1 GGCL). Badin will play at Mercy today.

MONROE 4, DIXIE 0: Jordan Eastham tossed a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts Monday as Monroe opened its Southwestern Buckeye League season with a win over Dixie. Eastham also had a triple and an RBI in the game, while Ashley Minotto had a double and an RBI. Sara Rossi and Desirae Barker each scored for the Hornets (1-0, 1-0 SWBL Buckeye).

EDGEWOOD 12, TAYLOR 0: Tabby Federer was 2-for-2 with four runs scored and Nikki Dees was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs as Edgewood shut out Taylor Monday. Morgan Bowling recorded seven strikeouts and picked up the win for the Cougars (1-0), who will travel to Loveland today.
