Cats lead Mason 1-0 at the half. On a side note, Tribe leads Twins 4-0 in the 5th.
North Olmsted went 25-0 for the 1985 title beating Centerville; not sure if there were national rankings back then. I think it's the only title game where both teams were undefeated going into the game final.Very cool to see Mason play against Ignatius, on the road no less. Are these the only two D1 programs in the state that have ever boasted undefeated state and fall national championship seasons? I have no idea, but would imagine that's likely the case.
Hudson 2002 (I believe) would also be in that category.Very cool to see Mason play against Ignatius, on the road no less. Gahanna Lincoln (led by then former youth national team and the future full national team player, Will Trapp) was undefeated and #3 in the nation when they faced undefeated #1 in the nation St. Ignatius. Game went scoreless to penalties…won by Lincoln. Only state championship game defeat (against numerous victories) for St. Ignatius. I’m not sure if Lincoln ended the season #1 or #2 (St. Benedict’s?).North Olmsted went 25-0 for the 1985 title beating Centerville; not sure if there were national rankings back then. Feather in St. Francis cap to get a goal. Wildcats continue to roll while facing top efforts.Cats 4
Toledo St. Francis 1
Final
For St Benedict’s game 80% chance of rain near 1 inch or more expected and windy. I’m working in NJ so I still might head up for this game. Give the cats some support.
Yes remnants of Ian. Weather will stick around until Monday at least.Remnants of Ian? They are also scheduled to play at Chaminade the next day at 1.
Neither St. Benedicts nor Chaminade are ranked in maxxpreps.
Yeah it can be pretty easily manipulated from what I understandMaxPreps sucks - their ranking system makes no sense whatsoever.
I was at the Ignatius - St. Benedict's Prep match in 2019. The Gray Bees are very, very good. An historically strong program, the Wildcats lost to them in 2018. After the match, coach McLaughlin was quoted "I've been coaching high school soccer for 20+ years, and we've traveled all over the country. This team is, without a doubt, the best high school team a Saint Ignatius team has ever played against,"Thanks for introducing me to another high school soccer rankings. So St. Benedicts might just be the game of the year for Ignatius,

According to TopDrawer soccer, "Every season but one since 2010, either St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) or St. Ignatius (Cleveland, Ohio) have finished No. 1 in the boys soccer fall FAB 50."
