Martins Ferry trying to get Cambridge to agree to a Week 8 game. After all the crap they have pulled in the last year, we politely said go screw yourselves. They are a disgrace and hopefully we never have them on the schedule for any sport moving forward.

Correct on John Marshall.

Ignatius has played a few Senate teams in regular season since the old days:

Rhodes in 1979 (first year out of Senate)
Lincoln West in 1982, 1983, 1986
East in 1983
West Tech in 1984, 1985
Collinwood in 1990
JFK in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 2003, 2006, 2007
John Adams in 2011, 2012
John Marshall in 2024
Glenville in 2008(loss), 2009, 2011, 2012 (in addition, Glenville is 4-2 vs Ignatius in playoffs between 2003 and 2009)

I think they were undefeated in Senate their last 3 years (1976-1978) Last loss (not counting Glenville's 5 wins) was to West Tech 21-0 in Week 10 of 1975.

A few thoughts...

1. I'm going to safely assume that the Senate League hasn't released their conference games yet. Possibly that's due to their loose leashe with Glenville's nonconference scheduling?

2. Even with #1 being said, it seems as if the above information is begging for a Massillon-Glenville matchup.

3. Speaking of #2, would Massillon schedule Mentor, Moeller, Glenville, St. Eds, & Heights for a month straight? That would be fun to follow!

4. Not that they wouldn't mind, but it looks as if Hoban is gonna get stuck playing a bunch of out of state opponents.

5. Iggy-Steubenville in week 10? :unsure:

I get that Coach Ginn is always up for a big challenge, but I have to imagine that he'd be intrigued by a matchup with Heights this year, especially with both schools having the same two weeks open. It's not like Glenville has the option of playing a big game at home, so this would probably be :the next best thing." I've never met Coach Hicks, but I know that he's pretty tight with a lot of coaches. Wouldn't be surprised if he connects with Ginn to get this done. Seems like it'd be great for both parties.

In any case, while Liberty isn't particularly strong right now, a nonconference slate of Avon, Hoban, and Heights alone would be pretty solid. I'll be keeping an eye out for any news.
