2024 Massillon Tigers

I think I counted 36.

Memory lane: When I was in school 9th graders were still in junior high and we had 3 full separate teams. And all 3 were good.

But we ruled the town!! 😂😂

Ok does anyone know what's going on with week 8? Last couple times I looked at the schedule on MaxPreps it had Miami Edison and the Utah team for that date. Now today I looked and it had just Edison. Is the Edison game back on now??

A week 8 bye can not happen. With NFL UK Academy and Football North on the schedule, Massillon would not have the 8 Harbin-eligible games required to qualify for the OHSAA playoffs. With that being said, I have sources closed to the program that have assured me we’ll be ok
On a discussion before someone said that is not true. Clarkson and NFl academy don't count for harbins, but we only have to have 8 games Total not 8 games that count for harbins to qualify.

Bingo. From Nate’s own mouth a week ago he said he wouldn’t really mind if week 8 was a bye considering the long season but they were pushing for a game to make money on a home gate

My understanding was that the state does not recognize games that don’t count towards Harbins, so it’s as if they don’t happen. That OHSAA regulation doesn’t address if there’s a distinction between the two. Either way, I believe that we do have a week 8 matchup so there’s no point in anyone doing the digging to find more clarity on that point. Hopefully we won’t have to worry about these things in the future, though I’m not too confident that this is the last time we’ll have scheduling issues

I quickly looked up the last 15 years, the JV info really surprised me. The years are as follows:
2024—NG
2023—Game
2022—Game
2021—Game
2020—NG
2019—NG
2018—NG
2017—NG
2016—NG
2015—NG
2014—NG
2013—NG
2012—Game
2011—Game
2010—NG
😳

Yeah I'm just going on what others have heard and if that rule doesn't say anything about games have to count for harbins and just says has to play 8 games it's just 8 games Total. If not they most likely would of clarified it otherwise.

Probably going to catch a game next Friday since ours is Thursday. Would go to either Perry or Mck but those are Thursday as well...

Any opinions on a good Friday matchup? Or at least an entertaining one? Avon vs Iggy is kind of intriguing. Don't mind traveling.

Unfortunately for me I have one relative playing for our Tigers and one playing for the Panthers of Perry 😫 so I’m going to go catch that game. Btw it’s not his choice to play there. He wanted to be a Tiger but his parents are goofy lol 😂

There’s the link to next weeks game
As far as 8 games go that’s the way it’s written
“8 games” not 8 games with NFHS teams
If it were to be 8 NFHS games I’d expect a whole lot more panic right now
And not from the fans but coaches and booster club
Only thing with Clarkson that makes me nervous is they had Iggy as 1-8 going into the playoffs not 2-8 due to Clarkson
But no where in the regulations does it specify nfhs teams for anything but harbins
I’ll reread all of the 2023 playoff regulations again to see if I missed something
And as of now there’s not an updated 24 playoff reg book just updated regular season
In 2020 Bishop Sycmore counted as a win not only a win but the 900th win so there’s that 😂

Well I lied lmao
In between the time I checked last and now the regs have been updated
Still titled 2023
Until you click on it and it says 2024
We are 100% in the good
