2023 Michigan had the.......

Well, Washington had the "stink, stank, stunk " factor going for them. And whatever "they" were paying #73 for Washington to throw that game, I just want 3%.
Coming in I thought Michael Penix was the best QB in the nation. His draft worth just tanked big time. He looked like crap.
Pathetic showing by the Huskies. Ohio State would've beat them, that's how pathetic...Ask me how I feel...:)

It factor

The indescribable, immeasurable "it" factor.

For Michigan, JJ McCarthy elevated the UM program with leadership and chutzpah, more so than his on field performance. Same for Joe Burrow at LSU, Stetson Bennett at UGA, along with Trevor Lawrence at Clemson. CJ Stroud had the talent and stats, but only against Utah did he truly carry his team on his shoulders to victory.

Call it heart or soul instead of "it" perhaps, but I do not believe Michigan is in a position without McCarthy to win the playoffs.

He'll be a Jim Harbaugh type of Pro. Not quite Ryan Leach, but that end of the spectrum. Penix will be better, but not much.

Yeah it kind of comes back to Herbstreit's comment about Ohio State being an incubator for the NFL.

Michigan has played in 43 games the last 3 years. That is quite a few more practices and games that most teams didn't get. Hopefully if most of OSU players return for another year, OSU will have the age and experience.
I think they supposedly had like 44 "seniors" (4+ years of college football) this year due to the added COVID eligibility.

Probably won't ever see a team with this much age and experience ever again.

1. Strength and conditioning.
2. Physicality.
3. Motivation from the TCU debacle.
4. The horses it takes.
5. Best coaching staff in college football.
6. Leadership from a veteran, experienced team.
7. Brotherhood.
8. Michigan vs. the World chip on their shoulders.
9. Will not be denied attitude.
10. Depth.

I guess I will just list 10. But there are more. Go Blue!

With the portal, I think it will become more and more common. (IMHO).

But age, experience, and recruiting stars mean little unless their coaching and development are on par with Michigan, Georgia, and Bama's of the world. Ohio State has the potential to contend, will that potential be realized?

This, experience really helps with so called "it" factor. Bigger question does Hairball take Minter with him to the NFL or does he (Minter) stay and become the next HC at TTUN.

I think you should be barred from using the term Hairball anymore. Show some respect to your superior.

The last two years OSU has lost to the eventual National Champions by 1point and 6 points … hardly the embarrassment that many on here seem to want you to believe … they are one of the elites of college football and have a chance nearly every year … the whiners just like whining … it’s what they do best.
