2022-23 SWO Regional Tournament Bracket
Pickerington Central 67TY SWO RPI; great insights.
Looks like the under might be best $$ bets in the tourney
Quick info for all of us SW OH cheerleaders on 2 teams that are definitely state title contenders.
Columbus (Reg 3) doesn't start tourney play until next week.
Tonight the 2 most talented/athletic teams in Columbus (threat to any SW OH Reg winner) square off. 2 of the Top 4 seeds in Columbus.
Pickerington Central (0 losses to OH Teams this season, with 3 D1 recruits. Vanderbilt and Columbia signees '23 and Power 5 recruit 6'1" '24).
Dublin Coffman (Wisconsin & BGSU '23 signees and another '23 D1 recruit). Princeton beat them easy 1st game of season but DC is talented.
Both teams had multiple losses before AP Polls started being released, so not rated but VERY Good teams.
Will be interesting to see result.
Marysville and Olentangy Liberty are the 2 other top Columbus squads both rated Top 10, but these are the 2 more athletic/talented teams.

You are doing well on your projections.West Clermont 48-26. Projection was 70-29.
Mt. Healthy 44-40. Projection was 52-39.
Loveland 45-37. Projection was 45-36.
Mason 60-25. Projection was 69-23.
The guy at WC probably felt that pounding a 2-21 over matched conference mate by 40 in the first round of the tournament was bad form. Not sure if Hamilton will get the same treatment....looked like WC may of played benchwarmers big minutes

That’s the coach not the kidsShould show no mercy after HHS rated them 13 in the tournament draw. Outrageous.
Top 7 ECC teams remain while only 4 GMC schools (1 being OH who took a bye). Milford-Lakota West was eye opening and Walnut smashed Sycamore.Interesting scores yesterday. Colerain gave mnd fits and Milford smashed West.
Now AmeliaBaron, you know your post is gonna' open up a big ole can of stuff. Everyone that posts on this thread with the exception of you is a GMC homer. You interjecting hard facts is probably not gonna' be received well......Top 7 ECC teams remain while only 4 GMC schools (1 being OH who took a bye). GMC top heavy and clearly has 3 of the top 4 teams in the state, but these ECC teams are battle tested, the depth of the league is showing. Hate to see WW-Kings-WC all in the same sectional as I think winner of WW-Kings could’ve easily made it out of the Talawanda sectional. Now one of those two and WC will eliminate each other and only 1 gets to a district game. Look for Milford to beat MND if they can get past Talawanda
........now you've got itDang that’s right. All hail East, Princeton and Mason. West fought hard. Colerain gave MND a game. West Clermont cheated to beat East and their other wins don’t count because no one else is any good. Thank you for the correction<3

Of course the coaches seeded West Clermont #1, that was never in question. AmeliaBaron and I just found the pretzel logic used by some of our GMC friends in this thread the last month or so a tad comical. It's all good. Don't matter now, it will all be decided on the court. She said exactly what everyone has said about the GMC - It's Mason, Princeton, East...and then a big drop off. No has been claiming that Oak Hills & Sycamore are top teams.
Also, some here seem to think that West Clermont is being treated as some underrated, underdog team. They were literally voted as the top team and #1 seed, and it wasn't even really close if I recall correctly.
Great analysis…Curious on your predictions for each of the remaining sectional finals and subsequent district day.Sectional Finals are set.
All but one (#11 Harrison) of top 2 seeds remain in every sectional; #12 Lebanon (no surprise) beat Harrison
No real upsets in SW OH, 4 total by seeding only.
#13 Milford over #9 West, #12 Lebanon over #11 Harrison, #11 CJ over #10 Miamisburg, #6 Centerville over #4 Sidney
Tournament Round Up/Comments
Most Exciting Games of SW OH D1 Tournament so far:
Dayton 3 Sectional Final
#6 Centerville 51
#4 Sidney 49 (OT)
Sidney with 10 pt comeback in last 3:25 regulation, Sidney 22-25ft 3ptr to tie w 6 seconds left regulation
First Round
#11 Harrison 45
#14 Western Brown 44
Western Brown Foster misses long 3 attempt at Buzzer
First Round
#12 Lebanon 38
#17 Fairfield 34 (OT)
Cincinnati 3 Sectional Semi (No one calls it that anymore)
#13 Milford 45
#5 Talawanda 52
Crowd size, excitement, emotion, Fears/Shuluga Foul Trouble and game much closer than final score
Dayton 1 Sectional Semi
#6 Butler 56
#3 Beavercreek 61
One of better Offensive games of tourney both teams traded making big shots in 2nd H
First Round
#5 MND 62
#26 Colerain 56
If Steele doesn't get in foul trouble, could have been one of the biggest upsets in a long, long, long, long.................time?
First Round
#7 Wayne 54
#9 West Carrolton 46
Emotional, Physical Contest with at least 2 technical fouls on players
Cincinnati 1 Sectional Semi
#7 Kings 49
#15 Winton Woods 43
League rivals. WW early comeback and battled for right to play WC
Many early round games were not watchable.
West Clermont, Mason, Princeton had 6 total wins by avg of 44 pts
35pt "running clock rule" needs to start at time of 35pt lead, not in 2nd H
Tough decisions for coaches on how to approach obvious mismatches in early round games.
TKDS video looked like Hicks was almost injured in Hamilton game when WC was up 72-11 in 4th; Coach why was she in the game?
According to Stats on GMC website, Mason starters only played on avg 3 minutes in 59 pt win vs Northwest
ECC looking very strong in Cincinnati with 5 teams left and 3 huge opportunities (Walnut, Loveland, Lebanon) to make a big statement.
GMC Top 3 advancing, rest of league; Big Fail
GWOC strong in Dayton; Centerville (Dayton 3) thru to Districts vs West Clermont vs Kings winner (Cincinnati 1)
3 of 4 remaining teams in Dayton other Sectionals are GWOC
Bellbrook/Talawanda/MND are only teams left not from Big 3 SW OH Conferences
Talawanda v MND should be interesting. Prediction: Talawanda
Hopefully upcoming games can be as exciting, competitive and emotional as Talawanda v Milford and Centerville v Sidney were last night!
Good luck to all the players, teams, coaches and fan bases moving forward.
Always thought the top of the GMC was better. That played it's way out tonight. Regardless, major kudos to WC on an unbelievable season. Hard to go unbeaten through a tough conference slate.Of course the coaches seeded West Clermont #1, that was never in question. I'm a little uncertain how Kings, from the ECC, beating West Clermont, from the ECC, is evidence that the GMC is better.......That being said, West Clermont's tank has been empty since that tournament up in Amish country. They've been running on fumes for a month.Always thought the top of the GMC was better. That played it's way out tonight. Regardless, major kudos to WC on an unbelievable season. Hard to go unbeaten through a tough conference slate.
