Madeira 4, Lehman Catholic 3 (OT)
Springfield Catholic Central 2, Franklin Monroe 1
Uniontown Lake 1, North Canton Hoover 0

Indian Hill 0
Alter 1

First overtime maybe ten minutes in. Hard fought game both ways, the conditions took away some of the skill from both teams, came down to a fight for who wanted it more, unfortunately it came down to golden goal which never shows who wanted it more, just who gets the first opportunity. Congrats Alter, good luck.

Who scored for Alter?

Lehman scored in the last 9 seconds of regulation

Wrong game. Latham from SCC scored the game winner against Franklin Monroe with 9 seconds left in the game.

Lehman on the other hand, gave Madeira all they wanted, and then maybe some. Well up until the end of regulation. In the OT it was all Madeira. With Bascom (I think) scoring the game winner.

This game of soccer is definately funny. During the first 8 minutes of the game Maderia had a chance to be up 3-0. The keeper from Lehman played one of the most outstanding games in the net I have seen all year. He made a brilliant save on a volley from Templeton off a corner kick. He later stopped a shot by Bascom by making another great diving save. The score at halftime was 1-0.

Lehman scored the first goal of the second half on a ridiculous shot from about 30 yards out. Ridiculous meaning how great the hit was. The keeper from Madeira had no chance. Shortly after the tying goal, Madeira went up 2-1 on a re-cross off a corner and St. Clair put it in the net. Lehman scores a second goal off a corner kick. The keeper from Madeira had a ball go through his hands and off his face for a corner kick. Lehman subsequently scored on a scramble in front of the net. Lehman gets the go ahead goal off the great hustle from their forward. The ball was played between the defense and the keeper and the kid never gave up and just beat the keeper and scored from about 25 yards out. Lehman up 3-2 with about 25 minutes left.

From this point the game was entirely in Lehman's end. Madeira was just pounding the goal with some good chances saved and some not so good chances missing. Madeira ties the game at 3 with a cross to the far post and Tudor scoring into the open net. With under a minute to go Templeton gets past defense and could have taken the ball to keeper for a great chance, but instead shot from just inside the 18 right at the keeper.

The first overtime period the ball was in Lehman's end just about the entire time. The keep had made, again, some great saves. Bascom left the game at the 6:00 mark of the OT, probably due to cramps or something, and was being stretched out. Came in with around 3 minutes left. The winning goal came off a corner kick. The kick was short of the near post and the keeper had to try and dive to make the play, he bobbled it and Bascom was there to score. Maderia 4-3.

Lehman did give Madeira all they could handle, and probably could have one the game. The keeper, who played brilliantly, for Lehman personally kept his team in the game. It could have easily been 4 or 5 zero at halftime. Madeira was clearly the better team, however, in soccer the best team doesn't always win as we have seen in this tournament already. Good Luck to Madeira as the play SCC on Tuesday.

According to what is being said it will be the experience of the Madeira forwards against a young SCC defense. However, when you get to the Sweet 16, there is no more young and inexperience players. Only inexperience in being in the Sweet 16.
