2007 S.W.Ohio Girls CC

Whats the Moeller course like? Hilly? Looks like the guys times were slow at Moeller. Even more impressive for Ridder. Sonntag ran a 19:30 at the Plasman/Harbin Park on a hilly course. I wonder how the Plasman course is compared to Moeller? Ridder, Durkin matchup should be a good one this weekend.

The race between Durkin and Ridder was something else...two girls already in the 17's! Amazing! Congrats to both hard working ladies!

Tiffin Meet

At the Tiffin Div. 1-A race, Hannah Charbel from Vandalia Butler came in FIRST PLACE with an 18:28. Nice Job. Megan Wright from Miamisburg (only a Sophomore) came in 6th with a 19:10. Congratulations to both these GWOC Girls! :thumb:

I heard a rumor that Mason held out their top 4 girls at their Invite because of a school rule infraction. Can anyone confirm this?

Does anyone have a link to complete results for the Mason meet?

Regarding the previous post... It appears that two of Mason's top times came in the open run and were not part of the varsity race/scoring:

Chaney, Stephanie F MASON 5K Mason Invitational 20:14.03
Terreri, Danelle F MASON 5K Mason Invitational 20:40.35

Those times probably would have shaved some 20 points off their team score, but no telling if enough to beat Springboro.

I know that Ridder was beaten by Durkin a couple of weeks ago and that Durkin ran insainly fast this weekend, but, after seeing Ridder run at Alliance it is hard to imagine Durkin running away from her.

How They Stack Up After the Alliance Meet

We knew Hannah Charbel and Hannah Turlington were very good based on their performances this year and last year. I knew Megan Wright from Miamisburg was darn good, but wasn't sure how she would stack up next to Turlington and Charbel. Well, she rose to the occasion and truly made a statement at the Alliance Meet. She's is, quite literally, running right there with them. The GWOC Meet should be a jim dandy of a race.:)

GOOD LUCK to all the girls of the GWOC this weekend at State! You represented your conference well at Troy, and you will do the same Saturday.

Is it surprising or expected that so many of the top runners do NOT improve on their place at regional/state a year later? As seniors graduate, at least this year, they were replaced by faster underclassmen. For example, Chaney ran at 18:58 at State in 2006 for 19th place, with 10 seniors in front of her. This year, she finished at 18:58 for 27th place, with 5 freshman and 6 sophomores with faster times.

How about Ridder...her Freshman year she wins State with a 18:19. She comes back as a Sophomore and gets second with a 17:58. This year, as a Junior, she gets second with a 17:38. She's taken 41 seconds off a State Championship time, and still second!! Crazy!!

There was a front page article in the Columbus Dispatch about Claire Durkin Saturday morning detailing some of her career and thougths on possibly not running in college.Read like a girl with a good head on her shoulders. It was great watching her run.She can sure dominate a race.Hard to beleive she ran a 19:44 her Soph. year.
