Except that does not happen.A state can step in and force a pregnant child with no money to raise a child, and refuse to help either child. Is that more up your alley?

There are plenty of chances to help people. Clearly you haven't acted on those chances. Here's the difference, if given the chance I would gladly do it.
Instead of paying them not to farm, they can be paid to farm. I mean, they shouldn't be getting a hand out should they? How exactly is that helping farmers?
What does CRP have to do with school lunches?Instead of paying them not to farm, they can be paid to farm. I mean, they shouldn't be getting a hand out should they?
The state doesn't have to. They have chosen to. Parents can choose not to utilize the lunch program. Are you upset if the local school does not have pay to play athletics? Do you pay more or less for each class your kids take? They have chosen to make school breakfast and lunch part of the education program. What about transportation? Cost of doing business.I know that nothing is free, and if someone is telling me something is free, they are fantastic liars.
I chose to have 2 kids. Those kids needed fed, housed, clothed, etc. That was my responsibility. Having the state step in and take that responsibility is a bad idea on so many levels that I don't have time to detail them - and I shouldn't have to.
So, not a good plan - in any respect.
Good thing you live in Ohio then.Sounds like Marxist socialism to me.
Well then get someone to read it to you.You are MAGA, no need.
How many lunches have you bought for unrelated kids?Who's upset? I am happy that poor kids get free lunch. You are the ones crying even though you don't live in California and it doesn't affect you one bit.
Uh, in that case, someone chose the action that led to having a child - which, until Karl Marx came along, meant that she and the man who inseminated her (or, since cultural Marxism, the woman who inseminated her), meant that the responsibility of feeding that child fell on the parents of said child.A state can step in and force a pregnant child with no money to raise a child, and refuse to help either child. Is that more up your alley?
Hmm..no, they can't. they could however, force her not to kill the child but instead put it up for adoption.A state can step in and force a pregnant child with no money to raise a child, and refuse to help either child. Is that more up your alley?
All of which does not address the cost of "free". And, which does not negate the fact that a state has chosen to create a blatant Marxist program in the USA.The state doesn't have to. Except for our idiot governor, I'm thankful. But it's coming to any state near you because there are too many fools who believe the state can provide valuable things for free.Good thing you live in Ohio then.
Like public school? Like offering sports at the public school? Not requiring kids to purchase text books? Providing transportation? All of which does not address the cost of "free". And, which does not negate the fact that a state has chosen to create a blatant Marxist program in the USA.
They probably will now that they can get a free lunch.LeBron's kids don't go to public schools.

So take the word free out of it. California is providing breakfast and lunch for all students. Just like they are providing education to all students.
If they don't or can't, then you and I will take care of it, and if we fail, there is the old "free lunch" program. And if they don't or can't then too bad child, next time choose better parent(s). Got it.
There are plenty of chances to help people. Clearly you haven't acted on those chances.
This is a chance to help people.
But yes, Trump charities is another way. Or go fund me sites off the internet. Churches. Tin cans at convenience stores. I think the school themselves is the best method myself. Let voters decide.
Like most things, we'll agree to disagree here. I have no issue with California deciding to provide free lunch. Again, if the citizenry disagrees, they can collect signatures, get it on the ballot, and manage the issue via the political process. This was a very popular notion on the forum just a few weeks back, IIRC. Lol.Except for our idiot governor, I'm thankful. But it's coming to any state near you because there are too many fools who believe the state can provide valuable things for free.

But that's not what we have here. We have universal free lunch - for those who need it and those who don't. And leftists shrug their shoulders and say, "That's fair" without any acknowledgements of the costs and consequences. Yep, that's the Left.
Understood, but at what point are you going to make parents accountable for their kids? If they can't fork out a couple bucks a day for a school lunch, how do you think the home life is?I’m not opposed at all. I went 1-12th grade with classmates who couldn’t afford lunch. Myself and three brother were extremely fortunate to have a mom that was awesome at balancing a budget allowing us to buy lunch everyday. We were also fortunate that my parents went to inner city catholic schools (as did we) and knew the same type of kids who couldn’t afford to buy. At least this use of tax payer money is for the betterment of children.
All of the really horrible ideas in the history of Cultural Marxism (which is all of them) begins with "But we need to not hurt people's feelings." LolI'm not that into shaming kids and parents, but that's me. Heaven forbid something happened to you or your wife and your kids needed the help. And some idiot wanted to give them their own section. I probably just gave you an idea, lol.
PlentyHow many lunches have you bought for unrelated kids?
Or haven't you had that opportunity yet?
All of the really horrible ideas in the history of Cultural Marxism begins with "But we need to not hurt people's feelings." Lol
Brainwashed. Wow.They got you.
You swallowed hook, line, and sinker.
Oh, and they stopped educating decades ago, but they do provide universal indoctrination, poisoning little minds of mush to believe something like this thing in CA is a good idea. Lol
Surely. I burn copies of The Communist Manifesto in order to boil the leftist tears I collect. And everyone knows that book burning is a common practice. That's why righties burn books and tell us what history we can learn. They might melt. Lol.
