Somebody pointed out that it was in fact at a neutral site. It was just a heavily pro-Camden crowd. Why are you playing a state semi-final at the home court of one of the participating schools?
You're right....it was at Central Regional HS in Newark. Hour and a half from Camden an hour from ManasquanSomebody pointed out that it was in fact at a neutral site. It was just a heavily pro-Camden crowd.
Going to the sideline or the scorers table after the buzzer isn't "leaving the floor".
Yep.May be for the “Ask The Ref” thread, but can they protest this? With all the cameras out there and we’ve only seen a handful of clips that show the ball being released well before the buzzer went off and clock at zero, this should be easy to reverse if it’s even possible to do.
The right thing to do would be for Camden to forfeit the win but We all know that won’t happen.
It already got thrown out.Apparently, the lawsuit has been filed.

As it should have....It already got thrown out.

A lawsuit over the outcome of a high school sporting event may be the whitest white person thing anyone has ever done.As it should have....
What if the situation was reversed? Would it be the blackest black thing anyone had ever done?A lawsuit over the outcome of a high school sporting event may be the whitest white person thing anyone has ever done.
Well, you appeal to the sport governing body of which you are a signatory. Which they did, and it got rejected. Thats that. You can fight to get a rule changed, or for video reviews, or something, but suing because you lost a game? Yup, that’s something only the parents or administrators of a rich white kid school would do. What a life lesson for these kids to learn! Oh, something didn’t go your way and you got screwed? Sue!What if the situation was reversed? Would it be the blackest black thing anyone had ever done?
Come on you’re better than that. If you knew 1000% your players got hosed and it was backed up by numerous amounts of video evidence, you’d do the same. If not then you shouldn’t be in a role to help your guys.
Again why is it only rich white kids? What if the situation was reversed? Just answer that one question. If your kid was on the losing end of this game would you just take the ho hum it’s a learning experience thing mind set?Well, you appeal to the sport governing body of which you are a signatory. Camden literally was removed from the playoffs last year over a fight. Did they sue because it wasn’t fair?Again why is it only rich white kids? What if the situation was reversed? To be transparent I would not with all the video evidence that is out there.
No clue, but the melee was on film as well and the officials were all 3 in agreement of what was going on. The video was sent to the governing body of New Jersey, and they made the call. Video evidence backed up the officials covering the game.Camden literally was removed from the playoffs last year over a fight. Did they sue because it wasn’t fair?
They abided by the state’s sport governing body, of which they were a signatory. Manasquan isn’t and decided to sue. My point is that Camden wouldn’t sue. Lawsuits over petty issues are a super privileged thing to do given the cost of legal fees. Mansaquan had a right to be upset and they had a right to appeal to the state’s sport governing body. They ruled what they ruled. You don’t go suing because you don’t like the outcome. No clue, but the melee was on film as well and the officials were all 3 in agreement of what was going on. Just answer the question. What if Camden had gotten screwed over with video evidence?
I would accept the outcome, because in this case, the school voluntarily agreed to be a member of an organization knowing they have a rule that says “outcomes are final even if they’re wrong.” You signed up to play by that ruleset. You don’t get to change it when it doesn’t suit you.Again why is it only rich white kids? What if the situation was reversed? Just answer that one question. For those that are of the opinion that reffing/officiating is challenging/hard to do/difficult/not easy/etc...I concur. However, making the right and proper call in this situation is none of these.Full situation from the hudl cam
No.Great. They can post an ad for new officials with the proviso that one mistake means they lose their job.
How about the one ref who said the basket should have counted? He should lose his job also because he lost the argument?
Sure they did.......Nobody sued anyone
You clearly don’t know what the word sue means.Sure they did.......
- Suit filed then dismissed by the judge because the court had no jurisdiction until an appeal was filed with the NJ DOE.
The official who convinced the crew that the shot was late will most likely lose assignments because of this. However, it won't be by mandate, nor should it be.The referees involved should never again be permitted to officiate a game higher than the middle school level
My guess is they adopt the NFHS rule that allows for replay on a last second shot in the 4th and overtime periodsand the governing body of high school athletics in New Jersey really needs to come out of the dark ages pertaining to its bylaws/rules.
