They want every conceivable workaround to the fact that Congress stopped doing anything 15 years ago. State legislatures get business done all the time. Even in one as crappy as Ohio's, the Democrats and Republicans agree on legislation constantly.

Little known fact: one important thing Congress makes sure runs on time? Unmarked deliveries of Depends. I'm not trying to be funny, they actually do have a daily delivery. Really makes you wonder why nothing gets done, right?
 
The responses on this thread are really amusing to me. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” was a great quote. If corporations could be trusted to do the right thing, OSHA would not be needed. History is littered with bad actors, and I for one am glad we have a government that provides protection from them. Maybe some of you people should visit some factories in other countries where there are no worker protections. Requiring vacanations and providing PPE or providing and exemptions and testing is just a small sacrifice to make for the health of your coworkers and their family. You people on here are celebrating being less safe in the workplace. The race to the bottom continues.

I can not believe that because the Supreme said one mandate is not constitutional you predict a race to the bottom. Did they do away with any of the other safety rules?

I don't know how many times it has to be said... you transmit Coronavirus whether you are vaccinated or not. An unvaccinated person in the workplace is not a danger.

You actually got a massive win from SCOTUS -- the government can now compel vaccination for anything in medical settings without a vote. Those scary evil fascist Republicans John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh gave you exactly what you asked for. Sorry it doesn't apply to the fry cook at McDonalds too.

Nurses have have to wear masks, right? People with preexisting conditions can wear masks if they want to, can't they? I thought masks made you safe? Are you saying masks are worthless?

And the real point is that the Court did not rule that people cannot wear masks nor that businesses cannot order their employees to wear masks. The Court ruled that OHSA does not give President Brandon dictatorial power to mandate mask wearing. If it is such a splendid idea, get Congress to pass a law. Simple.

They pose no additional risks. God man the New York Times says this, I'm not getting it from Breitbart. The studies say it. What do you want, a report on everybody's exact viral load submitted to OSHA? By forcing this vaccine on people who don't need it, you'd give more men under 40 an early death from myocarditis than the potential workplace exposure COVID deaths you'd prevent with your logic. Everybody's made their decision to get it or not.

OSHA is not a vehicle for healthcare decisions. You got what you wanted from CMS so tell your nurse she can rest easy. Even the hilljack Ohio legislature won't let an unvaxxed worker into a nursing home.
 
In case I'm somehow not being clear... the Covid vaccine is not the measles vaccine. You don't get it once and then you're protected for life and immediately do your part for herd immunity. Coronaviruses have constant spike mutations. Hence the boosters, which are worthless after the first one.

This is the first ever attempt to produce a non-veterniary Coronavirus vaccine. The current vaccines provide no protection against transmission anymore, only illness. Soon, they will not provide protection against illness. In young people, the side-effects outweigh the benefits. There needs to be an updated vaccine. We have known this for two years. There is not one. And then we will need another, and another, and another, ad infinitum, unless a Covid strain becomes so transmissible and benign that it just stays that way (possibly happening now).

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is not even close to qualified to administer a nationwide regimen of telling adults they must take this shot or be fired. Nor is the NYC school board (no exemptions). Particularly when this is a rare vaccine that has real side effects. On top of being analogous to a flu shot where you have to get it constantly. Last time I checked, non-parolee adult civilians had civil rights. Curious as to when the state of emergency ends so the FDA can open up public comment on a brand new vaccine as they've done with every other one for decades.

I genuinely do not understand why people cannot understand what I'm saying when every public health official in the US said this two years ago. But go on about Darwin like a punk kid, please.
