I think we have an "idea" as to why or how basketball teams are constructed. The Sixers were good enough to win a championship this year, they truly were. They just didn't play up to their capabilities in the Hawks series. They had double digit leads in games 4-5 in the second half and could not close it out.
Embiid was good, but not nearly himself. Not a big Danny Green fan, but losing him after game 1 was tough. All I'm saying is that Ben Simmons does enough positive to help teams win. Yes, the NBA is an offensive league, but the teams that are successful do play defense, and some play it very well. Ben can guard 1-5 on the floor. Very few players can do that. If the Sixers had it to do over again, they probably would not have offered the max contract, but he was a #1 pick, has been an all star and has been a part of the Process from the start. Ben is a pass first guy and that's not going to change, but he needs to become a better scorer, not necessarily shooter.
