Whose up for the Lakeview Head FB

Still remember that night, when I was there with my dad, and his friend. It was 1971. Place was packed, with around 20,000.
I read an old masters thesis on AAC not long ago and they posted attendance numbers from each game. Most people wouldn't believe it.

Not sure but if that’s the rate their going at and 42 people did apply we should hear something by December lol. Heck I was hoping for an announcement today .

They aren’t going to interview 42 people...they probably knew who they are going to choose before they called the applicants. If it’s true that they have already offered the job to a few coaches and were turned down then they should be careful through this process. I think you will have a head coach by the end of next week and I bet it’s a first time head coach, but just a guess because we haven’t seen a list of who applied and who interviewed yet.

I’m just gonna guess Chet or Sikora

Don’t believe either was interviewed...if they are interviewing young assistants it would mean they anticipate teaching openings. If that is the case neither one of those guys sniff the inside of an interview room. No teaching jobs and I could see Sikora but not Allen. Everyone is aware of the dumpster fire that liberty was...but not like lakeview hasn’t been so it might make them feel at home.

I just find it hard to believe lakeview would hire someone with no hc experience after having pav for 20 years.

I understand where you are coming from, but they hired Pav without any experience too right? Also, they have been awful the last 2-3 years...so what could it hurt. This looks like a first time hire. The only people floated on this thread who have been head coaches are Armeni, Sikora and Allen. They all seem like long shots or not much of an upgrade over a first time guy so my guess is a first time hire. Spread who would you hire?

Sheesh I don’t know. If they’re talented coming up (I hear they arent) I would go with experience at the helm.

Lots of bad info on here. They are down to 2. Between Marsco and Bellino. Last interview early in the week. No favorite. They like both.

I believe that there were several references to both on here. Bellino is the DC at Hubbard, vs Marsco, a LB coach at Niles and Lakeview alumn

Chris Marsco LB coach at Niles. Prior undergrad experience at YSU. Intervention Specialist teacher at Brookfield. Lakeview graduate.

Sam Bellino DC at Hubbard. Been there since 2013. Intervention Specialist teacher at Howland. Hubbard graduate.

Both are younger and teachers in easier positions to be able to find roles and won't require many steps on the teaching pay scale. Lakeview knows they will struggle in the coming years but the hope is to get a guy in the building as a teacher that can grow with the program and develop their athletes. Sounds like these 2 may fit the bill. Time will tell.

There's a few good good football players at a neighboring school from Cortland. I would definitely go after them to come back home. First job as the Head Coach is to go and get the football players from the community who have left to other school systems.

Kind of a hard sell IMO. Maybe the kid from Hubbard can get some assistants from Hubbard. I know of a few that work at other schools

Yes paladin and didn’t look I’m sure. He’s usually busy being racist. But I see his username is changed so he probably deleted the other one. Either way. I guess lakeview is getting a young guy... good for them. Hopefully they can be competitive. Or join the MVAC

Lakeview has athletes. The grandson lead them to last unbeaten league title in 2017. It included 3 transfer players from Southington ( who would have thought) and 2 of them were all league, all district. Get the kids out and they will get competitive. Lakeview attracts kids because education is very good, nice facilities, lots of sports to play and good community support. A young coach can build them into the winning program again.

I favor Marsco but would hire either one.

What makes you favor Marsco? Since he's a Lakeview grad? Has he ever been a coordinator? I'd favor the guy thats been a coordinator at a successful program the last 8 years over a position coach but that's just on paper.

I heard Bellino won’t stay long . Hoffman will be retiring in the next 2 or 3 years and he’ll go right back to Hubbard . He knows Lakeview athletic director who is also from Hubbard . We don’t need that , go with Marsco!

He hasn’t been a coordinator for eight years. He’s been on staff that long. I think he’s fairly new to running the defense like two or three seasons.

I haven’t heard anything about Hoffman retiring.

I hear Bellino wants the Hubbard job and doesn’t plan to stay around long. Marsco is local , knows the community and has no plans to go elsewhere. I’m looking at stability for the program.

So let the AD make that decision then.

Makes a lot of sense hire a young kid that has three years of experience and will have a tough time putting a decent staff together, and it’s not like he can fall back on Pav’s staff that was lousy. Don’t think it will matter much next season, Dawgs will be looking at another 1-9 season at best. Real shame is what the program has turned into, not surprised that their really isn’t any quality canidates
