What “Season” is “NASCAR” considered?

Talking like as far as “Spring” “Summer” “winter” or “Fall”?? My cousin explained to me this how it mostly works:

1. MLB Baseball/MLS Soccer: “Spring Sports”

2. NBA Basketball/NHL Hockey: “Winter Sports”

3. NFL Football “Fall Sport”

but he never really explained to me where or how “NASCAR” would fall into it? If you had to pick nascar as a “Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall” sport: Where would you stand on this question?

Not a follower of NASCAR but I think of it as a Summer sport.

Interesting that the Spring sport (MLB) finishes in November, Winter sport (NBA) finishes in June, and Fall sport (NFL) finishes in February.

I'm just waiting for one of these three to have their championship AFTER the next season has begun.

If I had to label NASCAR's season, I would say it is a Spring/Summer sport. There are only 4 races run in the winter, and playoffs wrap up in the fall. There are 36 "points" races and there is one bye week. Memorial Day is generally considered the half way point, and is when the All-Star events take place.

In addition to the 36 "points" races, there are also four non-points races. The Clash is a kind of unofficial start to the year, much like a preseason game in other sports. During Daytona Speedweeks (events leading to the Daytona 500), there are two ways they set the starting grid, this is only done for the 500. The first is individual timed qualifying (fastest lap). This only determines the front row qualifiers (1st & 2nd). Next, are two qualifying races to determine who is eliminated from qualifying.

During Memorial Day week, the All-Star events are held. There is an All-Star open race for drivers that did not qualify for the Main Event. The winner of the Open transfers to the Main Event. The Main Event All-Star race is usually broken down into three segments.

I would say that NASCAR's schedule most reflects that of a baseball schedule in that it really starts to get going in the spring and finishes in the fall. It is a unique sport, in that just about every week of the year a race is going on.

WINTER TIME, the time to go into hibernation.

I NEVER really understood NASCAR. It's the only sport I know of, where you end up where you started.
