Status quo will have the Crusaders losing with a running clock. What BIG changes would you make to get results from a roster with at least 6-7 D1 athletes. Anything is on the table.
How do you come up with 6-7 D1 players? I count 4 maybe 5: Hawkins (Penn State commit), Carpenter (offers from just about everyone), Bates (UK commit) and Wills (Air Force). Thurman is a stretch but I believe he has some mid-major offers. Who am I missing?
Thurman was a Navy commit,
Kayo had a visit to Northwestern last weekend. the soph Valentine will be a d1 guy.
Pretty sure Qb Mitch McKinnze had a visit to Austin Pea a few weeks ago (technically d1)
So add that to Bates, Hawkins, Carpenter, TE clark, willis and there is apparently a Rutgers lacrosse commit on the squad so thats 9ish. Willing to bet there will be a at least a dozen kids from this team to play at the next level.
They showed flashes of being able to run the ball well off tackle with Thurman. I would run alot with Thurman, hold the ball for as long as possible and shorten the game.
also heard there is a good chance Hawkins is done for the year based on his dads recommendation that this team isn't worth the comeback. If true I am truly disappointed. hope my info is WRONG! think what a buzz it would cause if you gained big Hawkins going into the last three games. Cmon Hawk, your boys need you.
Assuming no other injuries and the crusaders get hot, which two games are most winnable out of the three they have left? Im guessing WW and St Eds.
Sorry to invade, but here is the Ignatius preview:

Safe travels, everyone.
What the hell was that?! Way to go Crusaders!
I agree. Happy to eat crow over this w.
Any update on the injury report?

I'm with you.....never saw that coming. Credit to the players and coaches. They played inspired football. They had a chance for "here we go again" when Iggy's cut the lead to 26-20, but they came right back and responded and didn't let up. To have a WR play quarterback with limited throwing makes it all the more of an amazing performance. It could have been worse....they had the ball inside the 5 yard line twice and didn't get points. Great all around performance. Did McKenzie get hurt last week?

Have heard a couple of different answers on McKenzie, not sure exactly, but heard back injury.
From what I heard McKenzie had a concussion but I could be wrong.
Not a concussion. Happened during practice last week plus he actually took a few snaps during the St. I game, wouldn't have been cleared to do so if under concussion watch.

So what was it if it wasn't a concussion.
So whats his prognosis for Eds? Do we have a chance? Do the coaches wave the white flag to get everyone fresh for WW?
From what I can recall, the last time we played well and won in Lakewood was during the Ross Oltorik era. It has not been pretty since then.
