Ahhh, I love rivalry week with the prestigious, upper class, kind souls on the north end of the county. The air must be so much cleaner up there. We will just keep “slummin” down here in the back alleys of Champaign county. I hope that small, little, “trashy” roster the burg will put out there Friday doesn’t get embarrassed ??????
We are very lucky to get to go to the city on hill. May their graciousness rein down on us undeserving DIRTY, poor trash.
I wonder what it is that makes the Burg boys good football players in the minds of those folks up there?

I realize you guys are joking, but any good football team needs some "wrong side of the tracks" kind of kids. Kids that have had to fight and scrap in life. I live aorund Champaign county, so Ive heard all the local sterotypes, but there is some truth to them. From watching games around here for 20 years, Burg kids do seem to me at least to be a tougher brand. Not that WL is a bunch of sissies, but Burg kids always play HARD. Not sure if its because you are " dirty, poor trash" (sarcasm) or not, but just my observation. Maybe upbringing. Maybe community values.

Do us a favor and take your tethered shoes off at the front door.

...or a straight lined family tree.... ? ? ?

Excited for tonight!

All jokes aside (I've laid it on pretty thick this week), I believe this is truly going to be a great game between 2 solid teams. Looks like the weather will cooperate, which is good. This game could go so many different ways, I'm not sure in all of my years of watching and covering HS football that I've been so back and forth on how it will or could go. I just hope it's a clean game and everyone stays healthy for week 11, and the better team wins (I have no idea who that is at this point).

I believe that these are the 2 best defenses in the OHC, so I wouldn't be shocked if this is low scoring. A low scoring game favors the Burg. If it turns into a shootout, I think that favors WLS. However, either team could win at either tempo.

Mechanicsburg has had our number the last several years. It seems that their game plan has exceeded WLS' game plan and has been better executed. The game plan WLS had against WJ was as good as I've seen them ever have - so I believe we are in for a treat of a game. 15 seniors for the Tigers, playing their last ever regular season football game at Tiger Stadium. To me, that's an X-factor.

Best of luck tonight! Go Tigers!

Definitely things to prove on the field tonight! Should be good and there's a lot of angles the experience of the tigers is a big deal, the Burg in our last 3 regular season losses have been by one score 2 on the last drive one in overtime, that's got to have some leave no doubt fire behind it to want to finish strong and earn an OHC title - those aren't easy to come by!
Fight!

I think this game will come down to the final 2 mins.

Burg scores late to win 35-31!!

Good luck to both teams.

I’ve never posted on a Friday night here before so here’s a first. West lib earned a good win tonight, congrats to them and those 15 seniors for playing as a team. And getting part of an OHC title.
I’ll always stand with the boys from the Burg I hope they are hungry only for a playoff run! Keep your heads up and dial in.

Hats off to West Liberty on the impressive win. Good luck in the playoffs.

For Burg, put in the work this week and make a deep run in the playoffs.
