VASJ VS. CCC

Huge game in the North Coast League again this week as VASJ heads to Slavic Village to battle the Ironmen of Cleveland Central Catholic. VASJ comes in with a record of 4-6 and off a loss to Lake Catholic for the first time in 40 years. CCC comes in 9-2 off a nailbiter of a win over Garfield Hts. VASJ seems to have played better away from home, perhaps there is a bit less pressure on the team. CCC is a tough place to play though.

So you're not blocked on this thread

Is VASJ down this season or have they just played a really tough schedule this point? I can't remember the last time they had a losing record in boys hoops.

They were winning by 10 at halftime so they have some talent and fight in them. The schedule is tough as usual. However, this team is young and it's up in the air as to how good they will be going forward. They are rough. The biggest issue is a lack of size and ability in the paint.

One Senior and only bigs (if you can call them that) are Freshman. This team was also hurt by Jordan Dean electing to focus of football and track. He would have given them a nice 6'4 athletic big. The Vikings will be much better next year. Will they be SVSM or Ed's good - I'm guessing no. But they should be significantly better.
