Who do you think will be the underclass that will take the postions of the seniors?

Sophmore:
Wackerly Qb
Rose K/Rb
Tischler Wr
Moore Ol
Depriest Ol/Dl
Howard Rb

Freshman:
N. Dodds Ol/Dl
Boyle Ol/Dl
Kohler Ol
Fleming Ol/K
Meek P/Rb
Goulet Wr
Beck Wr
Cerreta Qb
Merten Wr
Dewees Wr

I've heard good things about Moore (OL) & Boyle (OL). It's possible either or both could cntribute next season.

Rose is an athlete. Hopefully he'll land a starting spot.

Wackerly has a tremendous opportunity at QB.

Looks like a good crop of athletes!

Obviously Wakulchik, Dahl, and Georgiades(but will he play OL).
In jv games Moore was better on DL than OL. It will be hard for Rose, just like anyone else, to get a starting D spot, with almost everyone returning. The only people we need to replace on D are the DE's, and Maze already got a lot of quality snaps. SO - we need 1 more player on D. Offense is WIDE!!! open (Wakulchik was only non-senior starting at years end).

I agree, Maze definitely has the inside track to one of the DE spots. Off-season developement of several juniors can push for defensive starts.

IMHO, Georgiades at OL would be a good move! He'll probably weigh in @ 240 by next season.

Look for Phillip Howard to make a very big impact next year at RB. He was a sophomore this year. Tremendous abilities. Was unable to play this year due to off-field circumstances. He has the potential to be really good!

I would like to say what I think is a good point. Hoovers sophomore class is so good that some people seem to look over the freshmen class coming up. Maybe the freshmen won’t play much next year but in the upcoming years they could make the difference.

WATCH OUT!! When the now sophomores are seniors and the freshmen are juniors it just could be something Hoover people haven’t seen in a while

I found this and figured to quote hvrfootball60:

Hoover offensive line
There will be no problem finding linemen to fill in for the senior line. There are many upcoming freshman and soph to fill in.
The real thing we need to worry about is special teams because we lose bojko and nett. There will have to be somebody who can step up and kick the balls around for hoover. Probabley John Fleming at field goal kicker or Matt Wattculchik.

OL-Dom Boyle, John Fleming, Nate Dodds, Mike Kohler, Dave McCarthey, Matt Miller, Scott Zimmerman, Steve England, Andrew Sampsel, Kenny Staudinger, Nico Milano, James G.

Also hoover will make it to the playoffs with and 9-1 regular season losing to Mckinely.

There most likely will be a young O line and it will most likely have its problems. But in the long run i tihnk it could be one of the best O lines Hoover has seen in many years

It always feels good to know the future is bright. However, your comments could be construded as comparing different classes within the same team. The optimal word here is, "team". Let's refrain from comparing which class may be better than another. Instead, focus your comments on the entire team and their upcoming season. Hoover does not have 3 differnt teams on varsity (senior, junior, sophomore). They are ONE team.

This type of comment can only be damaging to the program. Coach Hertler has repeatedly commented that his best teams had chmistry from top to bottom. By allowing this type of comment to go unchecked, it can only result in divisions within a team trying to gel into ONE team.

I respect your enthusiasm for the future, but the future is NOW.

I hope I have not offended you. I simply want what's best for the program. By the way, I know for a fact that some of the juniors have already begun speaking with some sophomores and freshman to start the unity and chemistry so vital to a successful program. Leadership will continue to be strong as it was this past year.

I totally agree! and no you didnt offend me haha i wasnt trying to separate the team i was just trying to give people a good look at what type of tallent the class had. And trust me i know how important unity and chemistry is too a team. Hoover will need it next year because of the O line situation they could have 5 different kids from 3 different classes playing. should be interesting

GO VIKINGS

Having watched some of the underclassmen as an 8th grader was very impressed with the Fleming youngster. He did not play last year because he was rehabing an injury. If I am not mistaken he had some sort of operation.
Hopefully he can make it all the way back because we sure need linemen.
