Surprised there has been no thread or discussion. I think we are looking at two potentially great match ups and one not so great match up (even though I hope all three are worth seeing).

Predictions:
D1
Anthony Wayne - 3
Lakota West - 2

D2
Mansfield Madison - 1
Kettering Alter - 2

D3
Cincy Country Day - 6
Liberty- Benton - 0

D1 & D2 has the potential to go to OT and possibly PKs. D3 might be over in the first 10 minutes or by half time.

AW 4, Lakota West 3
Alter 2, Mansfield Madison 0
Cincinnati Country Day 4, LB 2

Ho hum....
West by 3 goals. Big field will let the West offense run wild.

OHSAA website is reporting Mansfield Madison 2 Alter 0. Their bracket is declaring Mansfield Madison as state champs.

jaguarsoccer reports Alter won 2-0.

Does anybody know who won?

I guess OHSAA IS horribly run....as Jed would say - HILARIOUS.

Congrats to Lakota west!! What do all the West haters have to say now? No one picked them to win. Everyone always had them losing to someone.

Doesn’t mean they are “haters” Btw why are we using initials for these young ladies? If it’s positive let’s state her name. I don’t know KD’s full name but has she commited?

If “guessing” they’d lose against another great team means I’m a hater then I’m not really sure how to respond. I’m beyond happy they won and I can’t wait to watch her play again next year.

Initials bc I couldn’t spell her last name and I believe Ohio st. I’m sure someone could correct me if I’m wrong.

Seems like it always been the case in the Girls soccer forum to use initials when referring to a player. Boys forums no one seems to have an issue with full names. As long as you’re being positive or neutral I don’t see any problem.

I believe West's Kailyn Dudukovich ended the season with 50 goals and 9 assists. West's previous season record for goals was 17 by Alex Azeez somewhere around 2009 or 2010. Fifty goals in a season in high school D1 in almost unheard of. Fifty goals in an entire 3 or 4 year high school career is an incredible amount. Other than Dudukovich, the only other D1 player that I can remember with so many goals in a season is Perrysburg's Maddy Williams. Williams was at Perrysburg sometime in the early 2010s and had somewhere in the high 40s for goals in her senior year.

Can you imagine what KD’S goal total would have been if she played all four years of high school. That OE 01/02 team is going to be scary this year. Diana at attacking mid (D1 top midfielder), Kailyn at striker( D1 scoring leader ) , Marcella at winger (D1 last year’s scoring leader and didn’t play high school this year) and Renie (D3 scoring leader I believe) as the other winger. You could argue that they have the top four attacking players in the state on one team. Scary

Yes Ohio State, Unofficially since the 8th grade. Jones is also committed to Ohio State. The keeper is committed to Auburn. A couple of others that have had offers chose not to play in college including the young lady who made the cross to Kailyn for the game winner. LW's coach did a great job with players she had this year.

It depends on how many goals the coach allowed a player to score in a game. Most coaches would stop the player from scoring no more than 3 to let other players scored, unless it was a neck to neck game. Some allowed them to score as many as they could. I heard her coach let her scores like 5-6 goals in a game. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a great player.

Hmmm......in her season stats that are found here, I see no games with 6 goals scored, one game with 5 goals scored, and no games with 4 goals scored. It looks to me that in the majority of her games she scored 2 or 3 goals. If she were scoring 5-6 goals in a game she would have ended the season with 130ish goals. A quick perusal of the GMC stats, found here, show that a good number of West players were involved in the offense.

If they play unselfishly and gel as a unit it could be one of the best fronts we’ve seen in this area in some time. I’ve seen similar talent on the field that never lived up to their potential because some players self-promoted themselves and killed any potential for a cohesive unit - we will see. It’ll be an interesting fall/winter/spring season for sure.
