Starting a Girls Team

Looking for ideas and suggestions of how to go about staring a girls team and get girls at the high school level that have not wrestled to try it. We have several youth girls that wrestled for us this year but looking to start a Jr High/High school team next year.
Does anyone have the number of participants and team from 2021-2022 to 2022-2023 when approved by OHSAA.
Anything will be helpful. Thank you.

I was a coach for the last 4+ years. Not sure how much longer you can play this card but girls are getting big money for college simply because they wrestle. Had a girl who did not win a high school match get money to wrestle in college. Also get the parents on board as much as the wrestler. Even with the girls having their own setup some are still a little leery. Get other sports coach’s on board with the girls wrestling too. Having a trusted coach tell them wrestling will be beneficial will go a long way.

What school are you trying to get a team started at?
