St X needs to be transparent about this, otherwise, speculation and nonsense will likely spread.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a timely response from the Administration. This is not a subject they are comfortable with. After all, they are beyond reproach when it comes to anything discriminatory.

Here’s something from r/Cincinnati on Reddit.
Another Reddit poster hypothesized that the offending students may have guessed the password for the La Salle account, posted something inappropriate and then got Instagram to ban the account. For what it’s worth, the @barstool_lasalle account is now set to private.

When has a Private School around here been transparent about any incidents or issues? Why do people think these Private Schools will just up and change their ways when it comes to transparency? This shiit has been going on for decades!
Whatever conspiracy theories people come up with will be as bad or worse than whatever actually happened so I think it’d be prudent for the school to say a bit more.
Hold up? As much as I love barstool, why would a sports gambling entity have an association with a high school? No one finds that problematic?

There is no official association. High school kids create accounts with their high school's name and Barstool.

If you don't know by now, this is how things work in the Elder forum.
They're allowed to say whatever holier than thou thing they want, but if you point it back at them, it's all made up and everyone is cheating to get them.

That's fine, but then don't come out with a "we try to instill in kids the message of Christ" blah blah blah - you can't act all holier than thou and Christ-like and then sweep it under the rug. Be accountable.
This is not a private school issue- there is no public school that would be transparent about disciplinary incidents involving their students either. Because they can’t- they are minors and there are laws/rules to follow. What a dumb, biased comment.

In the Elder incident, no names were given, nor should they have been. But it was a story for a reason.
While Elder wasn't perfect with it, at least they faced the music. They were accountable. They didn't hide. Their principal was on several media outlets (radio and TV) offering up apologies and giving more clarity to what actually happened, and what they were doing moving forward.
If this was truly kids being idiots in a private text message group, then just say that.

They addressed a public incident where a thousand people and reporters and cameras were present- very different scenario. This person saying a public school would’ve handled a private incident better and with transparency is utter BS- because they can’t.

I will admit that if this is simply a private message group, and some kids got caught saying bad things, it's probably not newsworthy.
But no one has 100% said this is what happened. And because of it, every day a new story pops up, either here or on multiple other social media outlets.

I would hope that wasn't the impetus.
I heard that the students were suspended because they were conspiring with Taylor Swift to rig the Super Bowl so she could hoist the Lombardi Trophy and be declared Empress of the US. I heard that from my barber's nephew's posting on X. Uh oh, Musk changed Twitter to X. Hmmm, wonder who is responsible for that? Could it be......?
This is certainly not to dismiss what they did ( although right now no one is really sure) to merit the suspension, but the level of speculation is unnecessary at this point and largely relies on the "always accurate" social media.

You can't demand people not speculate if you're not willing to be transparent.
Not you particularly, but the people saying people shouldn't speculate.
This whole thing is nipped in the bud really easy just by telling the truth. So I don't have alot of sympathy for the people saying everyone should just leave this alone.

OR....its a high school; public or private, and neither would ever say what happened. It's no different from a student sending an inappropriate text at school. It's not newsworthy. Most of our kids have probably done something we dont know about on their phone that we would not want being made public if they got caught
I heard the same. I also heard the driver went to the media? Wether any of that is true, I have no idea.

Public Schools usually get told they have to release more info. Public or a Private don’t have to name names ding bat but they can say what the Issue or incident was actually about or what was said. The have Every right to say that 3 of our Students used racial slurs, punched someone,whatever the case may be.
