Soup beans?

So, I'm home today. Making some soup beans. Soaked them for a few hours this morning. Slow boiling them all day, with pork slices and salt. The question is... who here likes soup beans? Hipsters may know them as Pinto beans. We like to dice fresh onions and add them to each bowl, so they stay crispy. Some bread for dipping... mmmmm...

:laugh: It's not that bad. We have soup beans every few weeks. Good on a cold day like this, even better after they 'thicken up' over night.

Ramen noodles are the best with Franks on them though.

We get our beans in chili. Usually mix 3 or 4 kinds of beans, only occasionally kidney beans in homemade chili anymore.

Bean soup is fantastic when prepared correctly. Never heard of the meal or side or whatever it is called soup beans though. But bean soup is awesome.

Use a ham hock and don't for get the corn bread! And that is white corn bread.

We do the corn bread sometimes. Usually just white bread. I tried MU's "over butter bread" method... nice. Ketchup is a new one for us.
