Anyone ever heard of the band, Slightly Stoopid? If so, what do you think of them?
I have heard their music. They run in jam band circles and the shows are fun dance concerts; more reggae/ska then extended trippy jams. Big in southern Cali and a lot of old school No Doubt fans like them. Big weed culture at the shows too so if that is your thing you will be happy, if not...
They're basically a lesser known 311. They have some really laid back songs, but some others where they try to go to "heavy" on the vocals and suck. Officer and Sweet Honey are my two favorite songs from them.
Yup. They have some sort of connection with Sublime, I believe. I like them pretty well. The only thing I don't like is that some of their songs are ruined by the over-powering horns (trumpet/sax). I'll be listening to a song and really be "feeling it" then all of a sudden I get blasted by trumpets and it ruins the whole vibe. I mean, it's alright when the music is down low, but if you're cranking it, it's very overpowering. I love reggae and slow rock, so they give me a good mixture of both together. I do hate that I can't sing along sometimes though. You can't ever tell what they're saying. But it just sounds sooo good that it doesn't matter what they're saying. Sorta like Pearl Jam. Especially "Yellow Led Better".
My favorite songs that I have of theirs are:
2AM
Above the Clouds
Anywhere I Go
Babylon is Falling
Blood of my Blood
Closer to the Sun
Devil's Door
Fat Spliffs
Fire Shot
I'm On Fire
Jimi Baby
Mellow Mood
