Scott Rolen, Hall of Fame

 
Great honor for him, but he’s not even the best Phillie that was waiting for induction. Richie Allen, who unlike Rolen had a decade as one of the dominant players of his time, died while waiting for his HOF date.
 
Just saw this…

Allen, who later in his career, preferred Dick to Richie (the latter being a name he was given by sportswriters; the former his name from youth), once commented about Philly fans and their general negativity…

”When the Phillies are out of town, they go to the airport and boo successful landings“.
