Sad day for Clevelanders

Ehhhh, a lot of competition these days. The food wasn’t that good, IMO, and the last time I dined there my silverware had old bits of food crusted on it. Yes, it’s sad that a landmark that a lot of people enjoyed has closed, but maybe they’ll discover better places with better food and help them become iconic someday.

The article noted that it wasn't for lack of business, but lack of an available workforce.

I know of a couple other restaurants where that happened.

To be honest, it's been probably 20 years since I've eaten there. But had some good memories of going there in the 90's when at college - between there and Geraci's, my parents always loved coming to visit me during the school year (JCU).

Slyman's closed for a while because of lack of workers, but re-opened. Maybe this will happen to Corky and Lenny's. However, there seems to be burnout amongst the owners. Maybe a new owner will be able to revive it.

Classic Jewish deli, not always the best but a cultural institution on the eastside of Cleveland. Jack's will pick up the slack.

Owner explains reason for closing and hopes to reopen in another iteration:

Corky and Lenny's was always a visit of mine back when I made business trips to the east suburbs of Cleveland. It never disappointed and I wanted to go back there this summer.

I wonder if the multiple shut down versions of Corky & Lenny's in the casinos plus a failed attempt at opening a C&L's in Parma didn't play a role in the closure.
