If he selects Amy Coney Barrett, as most think he will if RBG somehow cannot answer the bell, then it should not be that big of a fight. You may get a few women dressed up in Handsmaid Tale outfits yelling Judas from the gallery but the Dems will be too afraid to push her too hard and alienate catholic women heading into 2020. The sound bites of Feinstein calling her out because of religion during the Circuit Judge hearings did not go over too well in 2017.

I hope you are correct, but I think polar bear is likely the correct one here.
 
I don't how the libs could get any more despicable than the Kavanaugh debacle, but then again they never fail when it comes to dastardly deeds.
 
RBG is basically a walking corpse at this point.

Trump should nominate Amy Coney Barrett. Libs are trying to hold on offering to give up their organs LOL.
 
What is with people wearing RBG t-shirts these days? Or am I the only one that has seen these? Just seems weird to wear a supreme court justice t-shirt to me. But if I could get a kavanaugh one that could be fun.
 
She made sure to vote from her hospital bed so SCOTUS wouldn’t hear Trump’s case to restore the asylum ban :laugh:

Do you think it is poking a stick in the eye of liberals as in, RBG, she's next to be replaced by a Trump conservative?
Or, do you think it is , RBG, God save the liberal justice kind of statement?
 
Be interesting if she can last 6 years. She’s stupid for no retiring under Obama. It’s on her if she gets replaced by a ring winger
 
Pretty crazy that the two most corrupt President's of the modern era get the most SCOTUS picks. It is almost as if God hates America.

Anyway you look at it the Dem's are in a no win situation. They can create a circus to their own demise.

A lot of people said that about the Kavanaugh hearings and the Dems and they made out just fine at the ballot box. If Donald gets another appointment in the next year and a half the Dems will make a circus of it and it will not cost them in voting in 2020.
 
I have never been able to figure out out the D's can make themselves look like complete fools and make it obvious that all they were doing was resisting the nomination at all cost and they pay no price at the ballot box. Then all an R has to say is read my lips and the votes just fade away. Most people I talk to do not favor liberal socialism and yet vote they will for the left leaning D's. I do not have the answers but someday down the road we will pay the piper. I find most American citizens support a strong safe border and yet vote the liberal open border D's into Office. I do not have the answers I just fear the future,

I found your answer within your own post. Most of the people that I interact with day-to-day are overwhelmingly liberal, but that's a really bad "straw poll" for gauging how the public is feeling.

You need to get out more and change the people you associate with, Where do you live in the middle a liberal city? I live out in gods country (actually in a small town in farm country. Back when Trump was running for President I drove from our small village to another about 9 miles away and there were many signs for Trump and only two for Hillary and both of them were Hillary for prison signs. Strange how different parts of a state can be so different.

I do happen to live in a fairly liberal city, outside of Ohio (I'd even say which one, if I didn't think that it would encourage more weird stalkerish activity from a few individuals on here). I don't make any special effort to avoid conservatives, but it's relatively rare to run into one casually around here. That was my point though... ...most people are in an orbit that's inherently biased... ...I'm very well aware that if I wanted to understand the prevailing opinion of the country, taking a quick straw poll of people I regularly interact with would be a bad place to start. I'm very quick to point out to liberal friends who say "I don't get it, I never hear people say that" that they wouldn't be so shocked if they drove out 20 miles.

Why do you find that strange?

My close group of friends is split about 50/50. There's 7-8 of them who grew up in the city or union households and are hardcore liberals. There's 7-8 of them who grew up in the country or richer suburbs and are hardcore conservatives. There's 3-4 of us who don't fit either category. For instance I grew up way out in the country but my dad was an IBEW union steward so I see both sides of the political spectrum.

15-20% of either side thinks the other side is the most evil thing ever and wakes up everyday thinking about how they can ruin the country.
Another 15-20% of either side identifies with that side and will almost always vote for them.
20-30% don't identify with either side and actually keep an open mind about things. These are the ones that decide elections.

Note those 20-30% doesn't automatically mean moderates or independents or centrists or whatever. I'm one of them and most of us have specific views but we just don't fit the liberal or conservative mold. I'm very pro-2A but think the rich don't pay enough in taxes (too many loopholes, not the actual rates) so who do I vote for? I'm pro-choice (though personally I think abortion is wrong I'm not going to tell a woman what they can do) but think the way we let people live out their lives on welfare is wrong so who do I vote for?
