Rule Changes, what would you change or create?

People want to see touchdowns scored.

A missed field goal greatly increases the probability that the opponent will score a touchdown because of the enhanced starting position of the drive.
If missed field goals greatly increase the probability of the opponent scoring a touchdown, then wouldn't that discourage coaches from attempting long field goals, thus decreasing the number of touchdowns scored?

Only if you discount the probability that the team that foregoes that long FG attempt goes on to score a touchdown.

More and more teams are attempting to reach the line to gain on 4th down in those situations, particularly in the NCAA. (NFL field goal success rate at +50 yds is about 65%) Both the number of attempts and the success rate has increased greatly over the years. The numbers are showing that the benefit outweighs the risk for some teams.

Fans don't want to see teams kicking 5 FG's each. Neither do the leagues

Does all that mean that the intent of the rule is to dicourage teams from attempting the long field goal?

1. Illegal Man downfield needs addressed

-A team running a slip screen with a WR or TB will get punished if he is half a yard over the LOS, but a team can run and RPO with 4 vertical and OLineman are 7 yards downfield and it never gets called. Either enforce it or change something.

2. One challenge flag for each team if both teams have Sideline Replay.

3. Eliminate or change the mercy rule. The running clock at halftime makes things really challenging for both teams trying to play younger players, but most officials STOP officiating the game during that time That is the biggest issue with that rule you cannot change my mind on that.

4. Go back to 6 Divisions, penalize more in CB for open enrollment or transfers.

5. 7:30 start
