One of my boyhood heroes. When we used to play basketball, I always asserted I wanted to be Havlicek. This was when he was still at OSU. I went to school in Boston and naturally followed his progress in the pros from benchwarmer to sixth man to one of the best small forwards in the game. One of my best friends was Bob Ryan who on his wedding day to get himself pysched played Johnny Most's "Havlucek Steals the Ball" as he got dressed.
