Any referees that can help?
Women's College BB.
Team A awarded 2 Free throws on Foul in 2nd H of game.
Post player on Team B voluntarily runs 94 ft to other end of floor/corner by bench to have lower leg taped/bandaged (officials did not direct her to).
Lead ref sees/notices this, No game stoppage.
Team A player makes 1st FT, Team B post still being bandaged once again no game stoppage.
1 of Team A guards notices and drifts back to top of key in case Team B is going to throw a long pass off FT make (possible deception by Team B).
Team A player misses 2nd FT and Team A garners Offensive RB.
Team A now has offensive possession with 5 on 4 situation, Team A guard that drifted back has made her way back into frontcourt.
Team B post player 94 ft away leg still being bandaged/looked at, notices Team A RB and begins to head back to defensive end.

Question? And more importantly is their a rule or just referee's discretion?

Should Team A
1) Be allowed to continue possession basically 5 on 4 (similar to injury situation, where whistle is usually blown once Team B gains possession or ball goes OB)? OR
2) Should game be stopped immediately by referee's whistle and allow Team B to get all 5 players into defensive position and Team A retains ball Side OB?

Thanks for any clarification

I'm not a referee but it seems pretty obvious to me that the situation was mismanaged by Team B.

If a player is not going to be subbed out during a dead ball then they are responsible for whatever happens once the play is live again.
