Let's Go Bears!
My Daughter Is Officially a Buckeye!
Well, this past week, we took my oldest daughter down to Columbus to tour the OSU campus, and sign her up for the fall semester later this year. She got her acceptance letter to Ohio State about a month ago, and she decided that OSU was where she wanted to go shortly after that.
Not only did she get accepted, she qualified for full scholarships through OSU, because she had such fantastic grades in high school. Also, due to the fact that she is a minority, she also got two other scholarships that were for minorities only that had a certain cumulative GPA. She's been busy filling out all kinds of scholarship applications so my mom and I won't have to pay for her school. And then, my Dad's best friend's son, who is an anesthesiologist (which is what Caitlin wants to be), and who has been mentoring Caitlin throughout high school, gave her some money for her tuition as well! I though that was SO cool of him! He has been having Caitlin come to the hospital where he works, and letting her sit in on surgeries and go on rounds with him, and such.
She's super excited to be a Buckeye, and stay in the dorms down there. She's going to room with her best friend Jessica from high school, being as they are both going to be Pre-Med students. Caitlin is graduating later next month from Jackson with honors, and she's ranked 11th in her class. I'm SO incredibly proud of her! She's the most level headed, responsible, intelligent kid I've ever met, and she's turned out to be such a wonderful adult. I just hope that all of my kids turn out to be exactly like her. She's every parent's dream- no problems, never gets into trouble, is always home on time, helps out around the house, and she has totally stepped up since my Dad died and has been helping Mom sort through wills, and paperwork, Dad's belongings, and such and hasn't had to be asked to do any of it. I am always so amazed at what a great kid she is. She has turned out better than I could have ever hoped or imagined. I'm so proud to be her mother. I really am.
So now, we'll get to go to OSU games with her and everything I'm really excited for her and I wish her the very best with her college experience!
GO BUCKS!!
Above is a pic of Caitlin with Jack. I LOVE her smile- it's So gorgeous!
