OURWAY would like to publicly thank all of the supporters and wrestlers that have been involved with the organization since 2006. It has always been and will always be about the "kids" and “wrestling community”. From adding new weight classes every year, one day state tournament (hotel costs) Satellite weigh-ins with officials, 2 officials per mat at state, monster eagles awards, finalist singlets, State of the art facilities, parade of champions light show, multiple team awards and a relaxed family atmosphere. We apologize for any confusion that wrestling families, coaches, and supporters have experienced the past week but we hope to clear up all concerns and questions very soon.
OURWAY HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED by the new organization of OHIOway. This is another organization that has formed on its own based out of Michigan.
After careful thought and consideration, OURWAY has decided to move forward with a larger organization to give the wrestling community of Ohio a multitude of wrestling opportunities within the same organization. We will be shifting gears and upgrading to join another nationally known organization which covers the entire country (not just a handful of states). Our hope and plan is to make the formal announcement once all the small details are figured out completely (within the next few weeks). It was not our desire to announce this until we have the information to answer all of the questions we know will be asked. We feel at this time though that some clarification needs to be made due to the numerous assumptions floating around the wrestling community.
Please understand that as an organization we want to make a few things clear to Ohio wrestlers, families, coaches, and supporters;
*OURWAY has not been replaced and remains the true 2nd Option for State recognition in Ohio
*OURWAY will be able to offer clubs liability insurance
*OURWAY will still offer state of the art facilities for tournaments and top-notch awards
*OURWAY will remain focused on the kids - This is important to the structure and integrity of the organization
*OURWAY Membership will be done online along with most tournament registration
*OURWAY will offer a female division for Ohio Female Wrestlers
*OURWAY will attempt to keep cost down with affordable tournament fee's so as to remain family friendly
*OURWAY State Championships will feed into a much larger National tournament
Please be patient with this situation and understand that OURWAY did not wish for this to happen in Ohio and did everything in its power to prevent it. We will move forward stronger than ever. We feel that with the changes in OURWAY ahead will be the best option for Ohio Wrestlers and for the future of OURWAY. Yes there will be a pull by all sides to gain your support but we feel that our position in Ohio is strong and we will continue to offer premiere "gold standards" in wrestling.

We wish to not discuss the details of this further until all details are worked out. We felt though that it was time for a statement to be made by OURWAY as to the future status of OURWAY.
