??? That's cute? please show me where I said anything to the tune of "I trust the media to do what is right by Americans" just keep twisting the words around how you wish. WAKE THE PHUCK UP!
I am woke. Been since 2012. It was your "I would never put ONE life to be more important than the money or the economy" comment that led me to believe you are the kinda guy who is watching the MSM horse crap all day long. That has been said ad nauseum by the left since the coverage began.

I just can't wrap my head around people STILL thinking this is all media driven and over-blown. Entire countries are shut down, borders closed, business closed, schools are closed. Half a million people sick by the end of the day, 4.5% mortality rate on those sick.

Name another time in the history of the world where things have been shut down like this....and if you CAN name another time, was it not a dire and serious situation? Countries don't shut down because of media driven panic - you honestly think ANYONE that is running our country right now wants to be shut down? Do you have any idea the amount of money it is costing the country and the economy?! There is no amount of media or media coverage/propaganda in the world that would cause these types of reactions from whole countries.....

But sure, lets keep in mind the feelings of those high school seniors and their parents because they didn't get to play a few basketball game....The rest of the world feels just AWFUL for them....

So first I was a Hannity guy....and now I am a MSM all day long watcher. You love putting labels on things huh? Haven't really been watching too much news lately. I have been watching a bald eagle nest cam all week which is a few miles down the road.

and what is so wrong with that idea? I need the media to tell me that it is something I believe to be important? I stand by that statement and it has nothing to do with hearing it from someone. I am able to form my own thoughts and contemplate what is right and wrong.

I will agree, this is a dire situation. As dire as the media has led on, IDK, but I know how untrustworthy the MSM is. I think this is situation where it could be a little of both.

As far the tourney goes. I am crying over spilled milk, because, yes, I am a parent of a senior boy whose team was still alive. I will forever believe Snodgrass jumped the gun. DeWine stated the games COULD continue with no fans, but no. Snodgrass took it upon himself to stop the tournament. It really could have been finished. Seriously. 4 to 5 days, its done. I mean hell, they left the casinos open and they are chock full of the most vulnerable people on the planet. Snodgrass could have continued the games and been totally justified.

Absolutely spot on.

Because little Johnny, little Sally or school who never got this far doesn't get to achieve a once in a lifetime dream of playing in a Regional or making it to Columbus.

Maybe next year?? Sheesh.

Listen, I'm not trying to be insensitive to the kids - I get it, it sucks. I was fortunate enough to play in a final 4 baseball game and its a story I tell and a memory I'll always have. But beyond remembering it and telling the story about it, it doesn't effect me in any way. And your son's going to have a story to tell too - only his will be about how they're title run got cut short, and you never know what could have been........honestly, when he looks back with his buddies later in life, everyone one of them will all boast and feel confident that they could've/would've won it all! There is nothing wrong with that! Part of that is kinda fun to think about.....

In terms of your view on how the media is pushing things......just watch a press conference from one of the State Governors or the President - don't go by what the pundits are saying - just look at the pure numbers and what people are legitimately asking for or are concerned about.......its not media driven when Cuomo says the $3.5 billion he's about to get in Federal Aid isn't enough.....Its not media driven when the number of people sick grows by 50,000 per day.... those are actually things that are happening.....

Sean Hannity is an establishment hack. I don't trust anyone found on FOX, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS as far as I can throw them. They work for corporations, not Americans. Yes, I have kids, and my wife is a nurse.

It is my opinion that the media has DELIBERATELY induced panic in this situation. Tell me how I am wrong. Please.
Except it isn’t the media making this stuff up. It is coming from doctors, public health officials and experts from other countries that have been through the ringer line Italy and Spain. Wake up, brother.

I know exactly what is going on. Like I said before, my wife is an RN running many doctor's offices. That being said, this is going to be politicized, and the media is in lock step with those criminals.

Anything is capable of being politicized. This included. But that is a separate issue from whether this is a massive public health crisis. Because the doctors, public health officials and experts from other countries are the ones creating the message, not politicians and media.

For me, the question is, how far will we allow the government to go to make us "safe". American patriots will only allow so much. I promise you that. There is a fine line here.

I am encouraged by the numbers in Ohio. The death total is only up to 10 in one week. I do not have a problem with other countries warning us and providing statistical content. The problem I have is our media using this to blame certain individuals inciting hate, and in certain cases, panic. There is no place for that BS.

FWIW, Snodgrass teleconferenced with some media yesterday. Nothing has changed since his previous press conference regarding a timetable for winter and spring sports.

Looking at current death toll numbers in Ohio or the US doesn't necessarily indicate what the final outcome will be. If anyone is following what is currently happening in other industrialized countries like Italy or Spain, then one can see that the larger issue is what happens if and when the health system is overwhelmed. That is when the number of deaths would skyrocket.

Some quick numbers I found online:
Italy, Median Age = 45.1, Number of Hospital Beds per 1000 People = 3.4, Number of Doctors per 1000 People = 4.1.
Spain, Median Age = 42.3, Number of Hospital Beds per 1000 People = 3.0, Number of Doctors per 1000 People = 4.1.
U.S.A, Median Age = 37.9 (Ohio's is 39.3), Number of Hospital Beds per 1000 People = 2.9, Number of Doctors per 1000 People = 2.6.

It's an advantage that we're a younger population than either of those 2 nations, but the lesser capacity of our health system negates some of that advantage. The major advantage that we have is that we don't live on top of each other as people do in places like New York City or many of the large old cities of Europe (such as Milan or Barcelona). The term is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me, but if "social distancing" doesn't continue for awhile longer, then we eliminate that major advantage, and our health system remains at risk of being overwhelmed. Keep in mind that we also can't test as much as we'd like, 1/6 of the cases in Ohio and an even larger % of those currently hospitalized for this virus in Ohio are health care employees, and we're experiencing a shortage of PPE. Does it sound like it's the right time to resume normal life and play some ballgames?

Since there's not much better to do right now, here's a link to the median ages for numerous communities in Ohio as well as all 88 counties:
https://www.cleveland.com/datacentral/2017/12/ranking_every_ohio_city_county_6.html This state is certainly not getting younger.
