The 2019 Nike Cross Nationals will be broadcast live from Portland, Oregon on Saturday, December 7. The link to the free live webcast is here. The webcast starts at 12:30 PM Eastern. The boy's championship race is at 1:05 Eastern while the girls's championship is at 2:35. The live result link is here.

Ohio boys that qualified are Shelby's Caleb Brown (Wisconsin commit) and Defiance's Mhalicki Bronson (Miami commit). Brown and Bronson finished 1st and 2nd at the Ohio State meet in D2 and both ran well at NXR finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. There are no Ohio boy's teams competing and there were no at-large individual or team selections.

The Beavercreek girls finished 2nd at NXR and qualified as a team. Taylor Ewert was 3rd overall at NXR and would have qualified as an individual had Creek not qualified as a team. There are no other Ohio girls running at NXN other than the Creek team.

Tuohy is a machine. Ewert gained nearly 8 seconds on Tuohy over the last mile, though.

Creek girls were a little off the pace as a team, finishing 12th. Still a great effort by them and a good cap to a great, and very long, season. It was great that they had the experience to compete in Oregon as a team. Footlocker finals are next weekend. I don't believe that Tuohy is racing there but Ewert should get a shot at redemption vs Dudek and Vanderkooi.

Creek ran without their number 3/4 girl. Williams has a broken bone in her foot. She made the trip but didn't race. So creek still placed that high scoring their #6 runner.

It will be interesting to see how some of the runners that ran at NXN do at Footlocker this upcoming Saturday. It seems like a lot of high-level racing in a short period of time - the meets qualifying for the various state meets of the runners, state meets, Nike and Footlocker regional meets, NXN, and then FL. I don't see how they do it.

Tuohy is not running FL. In the girls race, top runners aside from Ewert that are running NXN and FL are Marlee Starliper of Pennsylvania, and Katelynne Hart & Tatum David both of Illinois. Hart was less than a second from winning last year's FL but she did not run well by her standards this past Saturday at NXN, finishing 50th in 18:45. Zofia Dudek of Michigan did not run at NXN and is running FL but she ran yesterday in Portugal in the U20 Euro Championships representing Poland and finishing 5th in 14:22 (4300 meters) while helping her country to a 6th place finish in the team race. I would suspect that running such an effort in Europe on Sunday and then running on Saturday in San Diego would be very taxing on Dudek.
