NE8 2024

So what? He ran up and down the field. What did that get you?
well you said you handled him when that clearly wasn’t true. A muffed punt inside the 20 after you went 3 and out under 4 minutes left in the game in a tie ball game is what decided the game. Don’t act like your offense did anything special it was a good game decided at the end. Nothing more

It doesn't matter how many yards he had in the middle of the field, he never sniffed the end zone. How many times was Struthers in the red zone and came up empty?

Even if the offense wasn't "special" - which I disagree with - it was good enough to get the win. And don't pretend special teams aren't part of the game.

Poland wins - again! Third place in the NE8 is respectable.
Beat your chest over 2nd place lol silly. Maybe they will play range again and get a chance to beat them.

Well, it's actually second place, a number 3 seed, two home games, and another year of bragging rights over Struthers.

We hope to see South Range again. You guys can watch because your season will be over by then.
Kind of like last year when your season was over and Struthers kept playing for another two weeks. 🙄

Lakeview at full strength is a pretty good team. I know they had some key injuries throughout the season. The main issue is their defense. They just can't seem to get stops.

NE8 should be 4-2 at worst this Friday with 5-1 possible. Sorry Hubbard.
Watched Garaway in a loss against D6 Ridgewood, if Lakeview plays mistake free they have a chance. As stated elsewhere, Pirates have been a good program in an otherwise weak league, but they're not as good this year as previously. JMHO

IF both teams (Poland, South Range) get there, and seeing how the schools are about 9 miles apart, can't wait to see what the state will choose as a neutral site??? Boardman, if it's available, might make sense - so they wouldn't pick there...

If they put in for it, it is the best choice. It would also depend on who else was still playing.

All depends on who puts in for that game. Got to think Boardman or Fitch would bid for a regional champ game. Only 2 places that make sense.

Hey but you were probably
MS CHAMPS WHEN THIS CLASS WAS THERE
Congrats
Without their best player congrats lol. Onto the playoffs tho I don’t see Poland or SR being challenged in that region, could very well be played at Boardman of Boardman puts in to host, not sure if they will or not. Knowing the state tho they would put it somewhere dumb like Salem

Mooney hung with LC week 1 as well. I think it was a 14-0 game. Would not be surprised to see them take Streetsboro to the wire.

IIRC it was 7-0 with about 5 minutes left in the game. As others have reported Mooney's D is pretty good but they are on the field far too much. If any offense keeps taking 3 and outs against good football teams sooner or late their D is going to give up points. Mooney's opponents posted a cumulative 71-27 won-loss record including two 10-0 teams in LC & Big Red.

As far as the Streetsboro game I hope you are correct in that it's a competitive game but I don't know about that. I know the Rockets haven't played the toughest schedule but they are averaging 52.3 PPG and giving up 5.6. The Cardinals only chance is to control the ball and the clock and keep the Rockets' O off the field. They have to finish drives with TDs, something they have not been able to do all year for the most part. If they keep taking 3 and outs this could get ugly.

I only saw them once but the Garaway I saw is not beating South Range or Poland IMO. I have not seen Lakeview play so I don't know about their chances.

Good luck to all the local teams.
