Michael Sam's impact

I heard a radio show discussing Michael Sam, the college football player that just announced that he is gay. The radio host was quoting an anonymous NFL coach, who said that Sam was highly over-rated, and did not expect him to go all that high in the draft in the first place. He was also quoted as saying that the "coming out" would not help Sam's cause, because teams may anticipate a real circus with drafting him.

Callers to the same show later took issue with the fact that some other callers had compared being gay to being black, in terms of discrimination.

These issues got me thinking - Is it only a matter of time before a gay player in salary arbitration tries to claim that ownership is discriminating against him because he is gay, and that he would have been offered more $ as a straight player ?
