MCK 2023

For all the weeping and gnashing of teeth about McK from some, another FL championship and hosting playoff games. Good job Pups.
This coaching staff is looking at loosing to Massillon the next 3 years which would make 6 in a roll for Hall but the CCS administration has the football program right where they want it. Average at best hopefully winning an average at best league title and maybe a playoff win or two. You must be part of the administration. When your main rival loves your head coach there's something wrong with your head coach.

CONGRATULATIONS McKinley! The Pups win second round play-off game 28-24 against St. Ignatius.

Good Game St. Edward who beats McK 41-17 in the 3rd Round of the playoffs.

Usually I post some game stats here, but "cantonmckinley.com" does an excellent job with a full rundown. (Just X-out the sign on page, and look for "#GoPups".)

Several stats did however stick out for me:

1. Both teams did run the same number of plays - 51 each. And, Mck averaged 5.6 yds per play, and St Eds averaged 7.6 yds per play.

2. On RUSHING Plays, McK had 23 atts for 29 yds, and St Eds had 36 atts for 226 yds.

3. MY KEY STAT - For Turnovers, McK had FOUR (2 fumb and 2 int). Note: there was a fifth "unofficial turnover" for me when the McK punter KNEELED DOWN to gather in the center snap, and the official blew the play dead for a 15 yd LOSS on this 4Th down play. And, on the other hand, St Ed had ONE Turnover (fumb).

4. Lastly, Penalties - McK had 5 penalties for 36 yds, and St ED had 8 penalties for 65 yds

In summary, I feel the kids played their hearts out, and I wish them the greatest success in the future. McKinley Football was a way out of poverty for me, and I hope these young Pups take advantage of this opportunity.

As for this coaching staff, it can only be hoped that they also find fulfilling careers in their near futures as well. Good luck to all, sam
