A little over 5000 attendance. Nothing to measure up with the hey dey. Sears hasn't had a good game yet against the Rockets. Hope it doesn't happen in tournament.

Only two rockets? It was the turnovers wasn't it?
Buffalo destroyed EMU. They've been playing without players. If they come in full strength it's not looking to be the same game as first time.

Nobody wants to meet a team in tourney that can bring 60pts off the bench. Kent demolishes Ohio and becomes the team to beat.

Wow has Kent turned it around.

Akron is very average and has no scorers. BG's season has completely gone in the crapper, including the 2nd and 3rd leading scorers getting dispatched this week. Buffalo has been really disappointing. If they even wake up they could do some damage. In the end it all comes down to Toledo, OU and Kent. I still think Toledo has the most talent if they can avoid a game like the recent Kent game when they get to Cleveland.

Hard to keep track of who has been full strength in what games.

There have been so many losses due to match-ups, I don't see a team in the current bottom four without at least one win against a team in the top four. Could make a merry-go-round with the losses amongst the top four. CG, I think it's more than those three.

Kent winning @buffalo, @Toledo and vs Ohio is extremely impressive. They'll likely be the 3-seed but no-one wants to play them right now.

I don't think you can count out Buffalo or Akron. Anyone other than the Top 5 would be surprising but we've seen some low seeds get hot at the right time before. The tournament being 1-8 with no byes for the highest seeds means upsets are more likely than the old format.

In all of Ohio's loses (Kentucky, LSU, Toledo x2 and Kent) Mark Sears has been shut down from penetrating the lane. While Kent absolutely dominated Ohio on Friday (and i had to suffer through it live), I don't see Ohio shooting 0-15 from 3 in one half again 8n Cleveland. Toledo is a bigger match up nightmare for Ohio than Kent is. They have Sears figured out...

I would highly recommend any MAC or college hoops fans attend the semi-final double-headers on Friday night. It's a great atmosphere. With the newly renovated arena and people anxious for events coming out of COVID I am hoping for 10k-15k in the house! Especially if it's any of those Top 5 seeds... those are the schools that always draw well in Cleveland.

That be $$$ The hostel is shut down until August. The flop house on King (or is it Lakeside...), you have to have your just got out of jail card. Are there a lot of out-of-towners that go? Some people got bucks.

Kent is taking no prisoners. Should have no problems revenging losses to CMU and NIU. Their games are only "close" because the coach is managing them, to get his bench game time. ANd it's not always easy to tell who on his bench will get the time. Buffalo will be a tell. Probably Carry's worst game in the first effort.

Buffalo is a hard team to get a line on. With Mballa, Williams and Segu they should be competing at the top of the MAC but they've never seem to have gotten on track. Akron is starting to play a little better. If I had to pick a favorite for Cleveland right now it would be Toledo.

The MAC should send Keith Dambrot at Duquesne a thank you card for the Sincere Carry and Lamar Norman transfers to the MAC.

I watched the CMU - Kent game that CMU hd no business being in. They'd have had it if they didn't stand around the Kent basket with hands at their sides. Too many second chances and a great end-game play by Carry. Neither Toledo - Kent game was close. They were managed by Kent. They have the most diverse cast to rotate depending upon who they are playing. CMU does have some beef including an experienced outside shooter that is hard to push around (porn stash Oz guy).

Kent coach probably makes the most in-game adjustment of the MAC coaches. He has a long play-list. Toledo's coach is pretty much "here are my guys, see if you can beat them."

Toledo just can't get two, let alone three solid players off the bench. The center has potential but is a true frosh. The experienced guard is just off his game. My hopes aren't up.

Any personnel changes?
All of Toledo's losses are in the other bracket, including two to Kent. Kent St shares bracket with a loss to Ohio. CMU didn't make top 8 and Buffs are in the other bracket.

As a Toledo alum that followed the team very closely when I was on campus 10-15 years ago and has since lost quite a bit of interest, I'm excited to see if this the year for the Rockets.

Can someone explain why the MAC stuck with the 8-team conference tournament model?

I've no idea. Maybe someone else does. I asked on the Toledo board why they do it all in three days. Seems an insane approach.

No personnel changes other than Jason Carter being kinda banged up causing more minutes off the bench.

Tommy Schmock has been the brightspot as the season has gone on. Very impressive to see his improvement over the course of the season.

Toledo sneaks by CMU in a nailbitting opening game

+1 better than -1 I guess.

Scmock torched us. St Ed kid if I recall without a google.

Akron over Buffalo, keeping it Ohio. Ball St the only out of state with a shot.

What an embarrassment from the 4 Kent State players. I'm sure if they don't make it to the Dance, they'll be in the NIT. Next practice, those four should be dealt with internally. I'm a Kent grad and am disgusted.

Indiana State @ NIU today is cancelled because of COVID, which means MAC OOC play is now over. Conference play starts next Tuesday.

Based on OOC play, I'd break the MAC into 3 tiers.

Tier 1
Ohio
Buffalo
Toledo

Tier 2
Akron
Kent
Miami
BG
EMU
Ball State

...

Tier 3
WMU
NIU
CMU
Akron in tier 2 lmao.Akron mac champs.
